*Official* Australia in Pakistan 2022

Lyon really needs more creativity. Needs to figure out how to set traps, lure batters into a mistake. Perhaps add an extra variation or two into his skillset. There's really no point to his bowling on roads like this atm. He just goes through the motion and tries to keep it dry, hoping for an unforced error from somewhere.

Something that separates the great spinners from the rest is they have the guile to produce a wicket out of no-where. Lyon's sorely missing that.
What you're saying is Saqlain was better

Australia bringing Green and Lyon on in tandem and them being a bit more lively in the field and chat suggest that they felt even for a draw like this, things were probably too easy for Pakistan last session and they needed to raise intensity a bit.

We'll, hasn't this been a riveting test match! Could go for 10 days and probably still be a draw.

Runs on this pitch should count as minnow bashing the only track in the world that turns Pat Cummins to Tapash Basaya.

You play 11 tests and get 3 fifties. They world calls you a hack and a parchi. Then you play Australia away. Lamest twin tons ever?

I'd wager multiple India-Pakistan tests between the 60s and 80s were worse. In either country. @Teja. discovered a 5 test series in 1960/61 that was drawn 0-0.
Yeah the 60's stands out as not a great time for cricket.

Though I will say this is about as grim of a match as anything in my lifetime I think. Only thing that might compare is that MCG Test or maybe the 4th Test of the series that England won in India.

That test where india made like 600 or more and SL made 1000 must have been ****ing terrible too.

That 4th Test pitch was anti-cricket but I honestly don't think even that was as "death to all bowlers" as this one. This reminds me of some of those infamous SSC runways from the mid-00s, the ones where if Sanga and Jayawardene got to 20 then you never saw them again before they were, like 200*.

Was planning to go for day 1 & 2 karachi test now having serious 2nd thoughts.

A lot of my mates are pissed with this, the interest in the series has nose dived among the public after this snooze affair.
