Anyone have a clue what the pitch and conditions will be like for the next test?
There was also Sachin's debut series which was the same.I'd wager multiple India-Pakistan tests between the 60s and 80s were worse. In either country. @Teja. discovered a 5 test series in 1960/61 that was drawn 0-0.
Gavaskar's last series (also v Pak was similar). 4 drawn tests on roads but the fifth one was the rankest of rank turners. There was also Sachin's debut series which was the same.
There was a Wisden Cricket podcast series on the topic of India vs Pakistan that discussed this. In essence, no one wanted to lose because of political ramifications, so the pitches were deliberately manufactured to ensure as many draws as possible. It's remarkable they still sold out stadiums.Wtf is it with Ind va Pak series?
1954-55 was the same too - five Test series, 0-0Gavaskar's last series (also v Pak was similar). 4 drawn tests on roads but the fifth one was the rankest of rank turners.

Lmao at the 4th test. Need 125 in 20 overs in the 4th innings to win. Only fell 98 runs short, brave effort1954-55 was the same too - five Test series, 0-0

Bowl the doosra, screw the 15 degree lawLyon really needs more creativity. Needs to figure out how to set traps, lure batters into a mistake. Perhaps add an extra variation or two into his skillset. There's really no point to his bowling on roads like this atm. He just goes through the motion and tries to keep it dry, hoping for an unforced error from somewhere.
Something that separates the great spinners from the rest is they have the guile to produce a wicket out of no-where. Lyon's sorely missing that.
It would be that India Sr Lanka test where 950 was scored in an innings.Worst Test of all-time?
Heard Pakistan has laid down drop in pitches everywhere? If this was a drop in pitch, lol good luck for the next 2 tests. Was planning to go for day 1 & 2 karachi test now having serious 2nd thoughts.
A lot of my mates are pissed with this, the interest in the series has nose dived among the public after this snooze affair.
If you were lucky enough to get one of them out before 20 then Samaraweera averaged about 80 there as well so you'd get the same result in a less aesthetically pleasing
Since we're talking about flat decks, that Sehwag's 254 vs Pakistan comes to mind as well. Shoaib Akhtar should have refused to play that test, it was embarrassing to watch him sprint hard with all Sehwag needed to do was to change the direction of the ball and boom! 4 runs! That 4th Test pitch was anti-cricket but I honestly don't think even that was as "death to all bowlers" as this one. This reminds me of some of those infamous SSC runways from the mid-00s, the ones where if Sanga and Jayawardene got to 20 then you never saw them again before they were, like 200*.
