Margenout with an uncharacteristically aggressive fifty off just 42 balls. In theory Jura's bowlers should be having a field day with these skies but maybe bowling second on a fairly dry wicket wasn't ideal.

TMO fighting back with three wickets after their less than stellar batting, too

Probably made a mistake dropping Sampath to play the extra batter. Bright side is we bat deep and our worm has just overtaken theirs. Just need to see off the new ball really, and these two have done that excellently. Still a lot of cricket left so hope they finish the job.

FHK batting not firing on all cylinders but the target's low enough that it doesn't seem to matter. Should finish this off soon.

TBI have lost half their side in the chase but have almost two-thirds the runs. Asking rate isn't an issue, another wicket now keeps TMO interested.

Morpork crushing it chasing 280. TMO probably looking over at Margenout's innings today and wondering if they might the right move...

218/2 to 263 a/o. Jed Aye's dismissal sparked a collapse in conditions where it's tricky for a new batter to get their eye in. Jura's 64k death bowling delivers to secure them a narrow 17 run win over the favourites Morpork.

Meanwhile TMO hustle their was to a thrilling 5 run win over The Buy Ins! A spirited 11th wicket partnership threatened to steal the game, but the pressure got to Vinit in the end. Ncanana spearheading the defence with 4/36.

And finally Sajith strokes a sublime century to guide ZCC to their 9th win out of 9 games. Quality knock by a quality player. Good fight from GG CC, really made us work for that.

Moving on to the next match today, Moo v GG- Youthfest!

Mooo is the visiting team...batting first and choosing a very attacking approach...234/5 after 32 overs. Some really clean hitting.

Peter Sutherland is playing...and captaining the GG team today. I am looking forward to this chase. Gonna be blockbuster!

It's a tie!

Of course, it had to be a tie...just insane hitting from both teams. To put on 576 runs on 78.5 overs is no small feat.

And the thing is no one made a big century.

Let's review the top scores in this game:

-71 off 73 from Ernst Levy (GG CC), he tried to play the anchor role in the chase but got carried away a bit after crossing his fifty.

-71 off 49 from Kasun Obeysekere (GG CC), this was the knock that lifted the hopes of the GG CC camp when things seemed out of the reach for them. With the score on 163 for 6, he hit Alf Henton for 5 boundaries in the 28th over, which changed the complexion of the chase. It was a catalyst! This innings was laced with 13x4 and 1x6

-63 off 48 from Aat Bernstein (Moo), he came in at number 3 after a 100+ opening stand by the openers...and he just start hitting boundaries...10 of them

-60 off 51 from Edwin Gibbons (Moo), this innings I enjoyed because this is a youth I have high hopes for...and just happy that he played a mature knock.

-53 from 48 Tsungirai Meyiwa (Moo), he just keeps on scoring runs. Involved in a century stand for the 1st wicket with Chengelpet...and that set the tone for the entire day of cricket ;)

There were two five-wicket hauls, one from each team...Plaatjies (GG CC) with 5 for 61 off his 8 overs and Henton (Moo) 5 for 59 off 7.5 overs

What a game!

Leading to the following team of the tournament after nine rounds

Championship XI

1 Sajith D Estandau (*CC) 6.4 482 runs @ 60, SR 75
2 Alonso Kock (TMO) 6.1 379 runs @ 42, SR 70, 2 wickets, Econ 5.1
3 +Heshan de Melho (*CC) 6.1 358 runs @ 40, SR 77
4 Jayant Marita (DynaMo) 6.2 421 runs @ 70, SR 75

6 Zack Yattack (*CC) 6.3 (7 matches) 299 runs @ 58, SR 101
7 Tinozivaishe Ncanana (TMO) 6.0 150 runs @ 21, SR 87, 14 wickets @ 24, Econ 4.5
8 Lai O Yin (FHK) 8.2 (6 matches) 79 runs @ 16, SR 67, 14 wickets @ 13, Econ 3.7
9 Zach Burger (TMO) 7.9 24 runs @ 24, 16 wickets @ 19, Econ 4.0
10 Narayan Vinit (Geese) 5.8 17 runs, SR 39 22 wickets @ 18, Econ 4.9
11 Chung Yiu (*CC) 7.8 18 wickets @ 16, Econ 3.3

Hard to get in to the team that has taken 9 wins from 9, and there's a good argument that they would be favourites against a rest-of-CW team, but there were hard to find options for second opener and allrounder which the *CC team didn't really provide.
