Stumped!

Moooo are up against a bot with a long name...batting first and lost Meyiwa off the first ball of the match. It was not needed as I have set up a fairly weak batting order...the new guy, Oliver is in...

So James is in now...very early, it's only the 8th over. If he plays his game right, he can make a decent score today and prove why the selectors have so much faith in him.

Funny SOD I had. Forgot to set orders; if I had I would've gone with weakened orders against the 30K team. Said 30K team promptly racks up 271-8, only for me to chase it down within 40 overs and therefore gain the bonus point. Daniel Rowan hit a 64-ball century, and Richard Simmonds batted throughout the chase for only 27.47% of the runs.

Looking forward to today's CWC games!

Can the Wonder of Blunder pull up an upset against the table-toppers, ataraXIa?

Hang in there...

Winton v Honest Hunks I feel is gonna be the match of the round.

Wickets have fallen in all of the matches save for Moo v Jojo. Meyiwa and Way have put on 30 so far for the 1st wicket after 7.2 overs

This bot team is something special...they are not susceptible to getting steamrolled...they've won a game in this competition ffs!

Come on Wonders of Blunders...let's have a blunder-free game lol

FHK have finally announced their Dev Squad for the coming season!

Quite delayed, given we are already 5 weeks into the season, but the management has been busy at work identifying and recruiting players to fill out the team. The step up to Div 2 across formats has coincided with the coming of age of our 'golden generation' which meant that 7 of our U21s are now first-team regulars! Therefore the club is now pleased to announce a 17-strong squad, covering a wide range of skills and ages:

FHK U21 Squad Season 30:

Agnes Chow (21), Ivan Lam (21), Nathan Law (21), Lester Shum (21), Joshua Wong (21), Tony Chung (20), Ted Hui* (19), Andy Li (19), Tiffany Yuen (19), Tong Ying-kit (18), Adesh Edulbehram (17), Afzaal Rehman (17), Tam Tak-chi (17), Jim Winthrop (17), Jeremy Tam (16), Chow Hang-tung (16), Alvin Yeung (16)

FHK scouts will of course continue to keep an eye out for exciting talent to join the squad on a weekly basis.

JCC and GGCC have batted excellently today. TMO have Runs On The Board and Schmaltzberg do too but not really.

Some very worn pitches this round.

Grim performance by both Dynamo teams this morning. Schmaltzberg tried to preserve wickets like Jura but then failed to cut loose.

No real surprises in the Second Division, but Winton move past the Hunks into fourth place after an excellent bowling performance to defend a modest 220 for seven. This leads to the following XI of the tournament after nine rounds:

Second Division XI

1 Chunky Kutikkad (Hunks) 7.5 414 runs @ 88, 7 wickets @ 12 (Econ 3.3)
2 +Dipesh Mehra (Hunks) 5.4 220 runs @ 28, SR 96, good wicketkeeping
3 Daniel Hughes (Winton) 6.0 (5 matches) 229 runs @ 46 (SR 68), 7 wickets @ 26 (Econ 4.6)
4 Rob Tweddle (Winton) 6.1 306 runs @ 51, 2 wickets @ 18
5 Thomas Marsden (Ashgrove) 7.0 (6 matches) 314 runs @ 63, SR 90
6 Kurt Murdoch (ataXIa) 5.9 227 runs @ 45, SR 95
7 Shanuka Veenstra (Moooo) 6.6 177 runs @ 30, SR 95, 16 wickets @ 20, Econ 4.7
8 Tadinashe Hlengwa (Ashgrove) (3 matches) 8.7 34 runs unbeaten, SR 155, 6 wickets @ 11, Econ 2.5
9 Chaten Kurupath (Moooo) 6.9 62 runs @ 12.4, 17 wickets @ 17, Econ 4.3
10 Uditha Wermelskircher (Mooooo) 7.6 11 wickets @ 21, Econ 3.1
11 Howell Brown (ataXIa) 6.6 15 wickets @ 14, Econ 4.2

Stats are without Wonders or Blunders match, which is why they don't match up to the official ones (and batting average might have missed a not out or two). Real dearth of top order options. Well spread but Moooo's bowlers have imo been more consistent than ataraXIa's, even if their batting has often failed to back it up (though today's Way-Meyiwa stand has improved their standing)

Other contenders: Frans Potgieter (sold), Juan Goliath, Jasper Davey, Daniel Rowan, Mike Warfield, Imran Zahid, Bernard Mayer, James Simpson, Mo Sherwood, Milan Kudesia, Piyush Yeluri
