Still it was stupid to have him and Shanaka in super over when they have a strike rate of just above 100 after 60 odd games each. Chamika Karunaratne should have been one and could have gone with 2 of Asalanka/Hasaranga and Nissanka as the other.

It is both. Both shanaka and chandimal should not be in team let alone face super over.

Chandimal is literally the only SL player in this series I've ever heard of. These guys have had some serious player turn-over in the last 5 years

Shanaka is easily the best in using the long handle. But given that Hazlewood was the bowler, sending Nissanka was definitely on. Because he can score some runs, since he is a very orthodox player.

batting and bowling wise Shanaka should not. However he is the sole reason we are playing as a team. In ODIs however, he has made some runs.
