One player you wish he had played for your team?

Yeah Australia was a pretty faultless team in that period but there were still plenty of players around at the time who could get into and improve them even more

Always had one passenger in their side: Kasprowicz, Bickle, Brad Hogg etc.

It’s an obvious choice.

Only a marginally worse batsmen than the best options available, perfect 5th bowler and a pretty good slip fielder.
For past Indian teams, a world class pace bowler would be much better. But if you mean for current Indian team, Kallis is a great choice. Would allow us to play 6 batsmen.

Yeah current team definitely.

Kapil/Imran would be amazing for the current side too but we already have good bowlers - our batting seems to be the biggest problem now. With Kallis as you say we can fix that plus play 6 batsmen + Pant, one spin bowler who can bat and our 3 fast bunnies (or swap one out for Lord if needed).

Batting is more of recent issue. I would say a gap in Kohli's side is that the lower order tends to fold very quickly and the spinner allrounders mostly fetch you soft runs.

Few things wrong with this. Firstly they definitely didn't always have one of these lesser players in the side, secondly they generally performed very well when given the chance.

Brad Hogg a particularly weird one to name given he was about as good (IMO better) than Warne was in ODIs and one of the best white-ball spinners in the world during his time was well as a good lower-order bat and exceptional fielder. Wouldn't replace him with anyone.

And without Kasprowicz, 1998 BG Trophy would have been 3-0 and I dont think you would have won the tests you did in 2004 either.

Yea for some reason thought you mean the 90s/00s team in which case Kallis would be a bizarre choice. He'd be a great choice for this current team for sure with his all round abilities.

Rohit
Rahul
ANYONE BUT PUJARA
Kohli with a long leash
Kallis (or Kallis at 3?)
Pant
Jadeja/Ashwin/Axar if away and in that order, all 3 if at home and drop the pacers
Shami/Ishant/Yadav
Bumrah
Siraj

Prabhakar and Azhar aside,

In 90s, biggest wish was a wicket keeper with proper batting ability or a world class allrounder like Kapil.
Then, an ATG pacer and 1 or 2 match winning bats to support Sachin.

Sehwag, Yuvi and Dhoni emerged in 00s, Bumrah took 15 years more.
