Rahane needs to be dropped for good. Has no defense. Looked all at sea.

That was a pretty good ball tbf to Rahane. Rabada bowling well today.

All the wickets today have been to good balls. Hasn't been particularly bad batting. Not great batting, mind, but they've been going about it well. SA have just bowled really well too.

Need a long innings from Pant here.

Its not just the grass but the overhead conditions too. Both together = bowl first.

If it was sunny, then bat first would've made much more sense.

"When you win the toss - bat. If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat."

"Nine times out of ten when you win the toss, bat first, and on the tenth occasion think about it, then bat."

Green would've caught that imo.
It's pretty clear that the "tall bloke at gully" tactic is a general one on Aus's behalf, not just a Green-specific thing. Will be interested to see if it catches on elsewhere, it does save quite a lot of runs by effectively plugging the gap between slip and gully which is notorious in bouncy conditions for leaking runs.

India's got Ashwin fielding there but that doesn't seem right

Shot by Pant. Get stuck in there boy.

Sometimes Starc fields there which doesn't really feel right either (and has already cost a dropped catch off Green's bowling, ironically) but that's what makes it clear that it's a general tactic, albeit one prompted by Green's emergence
