Australia definitely need Green to be better with the bat. They can make do with an all rounder who's OK but not that great with the ball.
The shot he got out to was just dumb as he plonked Leach straight 15 rows back a couple of balls earlier off a mishitI think he gets the whole year unless he looked genuinely, totally lost against spin in the subcontinent (which, I have to say, is definitely a possibility...) and he basically gets yanked for his own good.
But like as Burgey said he's six foot a million. He really should just run down the pitch and basically tonk anything on a good length. That or practice his sweep shot, a lot.
aye it sort of feels like at times he gets in to a mindset where instead of playing each ball on its merits based on the match situation and his game, he sort of instead goes "i am in a Test Match so have to block three balls in a row, then attempt a scoring shot off the next ball, then block again three times before attempting to score again"The shot he got out to was just dumb as he plonked Leach straight 15 rows back a couple of balls earlier off a mi****
Yeah I don't get why he didn't just try to hit pretty much every single ball over long on's head, not like it would have been a particularly difficult task for him to clear it.The shot he got out to was just dumb as he plonked Leach straight 15 rows back a couple of balls earlier off a mi****
Right but that really is mostly because he's just a kid in cricketing terms. He doesn't really know his own game yet.aye it sort of feels like at times he gets in to a mindset where instead of playing each ball on its merits based on the match situation and his game, he sort of instead goes "i am in a Test Match so have to block three balls in a row, then attempt a scoring shot off the next ball, then block again three times before attempting to score again"
obviously i am oversimplifying the phenomena but you get what i mean
Seems to me that he’s got lots of things going through his headaye it sort of feels like at times he gets in to a mindset where instead of playing each ball on its merits based on the match situation and his game, he sort of instead goes "i am in a Test Match so have to block three balls in a row, then attempt a scoring shot off the next ball, then block again three times before attempting to score again"

damage control imoI can only assume that Fox commentators are under instructions to pump Harris
Watching the BBL and Howie is acting like it’s some tough decision to omit Harris for Khawaja in Hobart
Hussey only committing to having the conversation
At least Vaughan is talking sense
Howard just falls into same line of thinking of the prominent names around him. Total and utter sycophant.I can only assume that Fox commentators are under instructions to pump Harris

"Having the conversation" is definitely as close as you'll ever hear Hussey come to saying someone should be dropped tbhI can only assume that Fox commentators are under instructions to pump Harris

Except he's not averaging 15, he's averaging 33 in tests, which is fine for a kid his age. Carey and Harris are far bigger concerns.again i don't disagree with anything that you've said it's just right now his batting has not been good enough to be a longterm six - which does not mean i'm saying drop him, i'm just saying that before we can anoint him the number six for the next fifteen years we need to see more stuff like today. it's not as if he's not holding his place in the xi ~~somewhere~~ with the other stuff because he totally is doing so, just purely talking about his place with the batting lineup
#pillowLove it when a fan favourite in Usman Khawaja does so well, I remember some of you had such glowing remarks regarding him...
burgey tasting it pretty hard right now and his many enemies here haven't said a word.#pillow
To be fair I think most of his enemies (see: best mates who like to take the piss out of him) actually mostly agreed with him on Khawaja's character. I always thought he should be playing anyway (as opener), but more just because a pillow averaging 40 is always gonna be better than Rory Burns fighting it out for an average of 28.burgey tasting it pretty hard right now and his many enemies here haven't said a word.
if they have any common sense left after an already demoralising long summer they'll shut up shop before a ball is bowled.lol, these Aussie posters Gambhiring. That's my role, **** off ****s.
More seriously, Day 5 does seem very interesting. All 3 results possible though I bet if England lose early wickets they just shut up shop instead.
Green vs spin in the SC doesn't fill me with alot of confidence tbh. He can dominate spin when he wants to but he doesn't use his feet until he's set and he's never been very confident on the sweep, he only really pulls it out while declaration battling and IMO looks so much better when he does.I think he gets the whole year unless he looked genuinely, totally lost against spin in the subcontinent (which, I have to say, is definitely a possibility...) and he basically gets yanked for his own good.
