No matter what the size of the park is that was an awesome knock. He barely slogged a ball. Particularly after being 24/5. Stuff off the legends.

Haha, Macewell! Was keeping an eye on the game but was presuming the wheels would come off eventually, until that Seth Rance over that went for 29 put Welly in the box seat. Amazing innings, the kind that could spur a totally unjustified promotion to the national side.

Headed up from Wellington for the game today and can confirm Larsen was at the ground (saw him darting to the urinal, avoiding Ajaz along the way)

Amazing knock from Bracewell, knew he could occasionally slog a few in t20, but didn’t think he had that in him!

And what a beautiful ground, would definitely recommend a visit if you get the chance.

Super surprised why they didn't throw the ball to Ajaz towards the end. Surely given his experience he could have turned it around. If Wiggins collected the ball proper Bracewell would have been stumped early on. I get this feel Ajaz generally doesn't have too many buyers strangely. He was even dropped from CD last year for couple of super smash games I think.

I've watched few games at Pukekura park. The view from the top tier is awesome. Nice town New Plymouth on a good day.

Pukekura's a great ground for watching. A good mate of mine is from NP and I've been up there with him a few times and watched rugby and cricket. Sat on the edge of the ground once with Ross Taylor fielding pretty much between my dangling feet.

Just checked the old photo album, and it was CD vs. ND in January 2010. Classic players such as Graham Napier, Joey Yovich, Bevan Griggs, one of the Marshalls.

Not sure. The game I was at, ND had no overseas pro playing.

I'd add some pictures from the game, but they're too big for CW to cope with, it seems. And linking to imgur posts isn't working either. Hey ho.

This is one for the "cricketers and posters you associate together"

although I feel like I also associate Dimi Mascarenhas with you as well

mike bracewell can bat like that??
I recall one of the Wellington posters from years ago describing Macewell as the longest hitter. I wonder if this was when he was Otago still? Or based on Welly games or Welly hitting warmups?

Just watched the highlights, that is one of the best celebrations I've seen to winning a cricket game - Macewell tossing aside the bat and being held aloft by his jubilant team mates.

Poor CD. Still, based on form you would think Bruce and Bracewell might be in contention for that Hadlee-Chappell series. A shame Clarkson doesn't seem to be bowling.
