***Official New Zealand Domestic Season 2021/22***

International Debutant
Son-of-Carlos-Spencer. Son-of-Azhar-Abbas.
Also, son-of former NZ under 19 captain David Hartshorn.

Azhar Abbas is also bowling coach with Dean Brownlee batting coach. With the under 19's not going to the World Cup cos of Covid they are doing these internal tours. It looks like another one will happen after the under 19 tournament is completed. Would have liked to see Thorn Parkes in there.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I’m genuinely sorry, NZT ran for the hills and Athlai wasn’t interested. I was rock hard and ready.
Yeah look, two things:
  • last time I had a height measurement at the doctors I was 6'0" even and I couldn't handle TH tell me I'm actually 5'9, 5'10" at best
  • Two years ago I assumed athlais identity. He thought he was being a GC giving me a Sony discount but it paved the way for me to make a number of dark web dealings under his identity and so I couldn't risk us both being seen in the same spot in case any feds were snapping photos

Sears is as raw as fresh tuna. Sometimes he looks pretty bog-standard fast-medium, but then there are days like today when he genuinely looks like one of the quickest bowlers in the world. To the naked eye his first over looked as quick as anything Lockie’s bowled this season.

Meanwhile, Allen’s looking club standard behind the stumps. Haven’t seen a worse display since Saturn TV used to broadcast Wellington club cricket in the early-00’s and you’d usually see 20-25 runs flash through the keepers gloves per game.

Yeah Sears was hustling it through. Pace and bounce but I see he's developed very good accurate variations.

This game is pretty much Clarkson vs Finn. Finn could get 150 here.

Maybe not today Finn. I guess that's the game too. Are firebirds out of super smash play offs if they drop this one?

International Coach
MG Hughes turning out for CD. No, not Merv; Mason. With CD's not-exactly-high amount of batsman a debut was going to happen eventually. I'd have thought Brad Schmulian would be a good option as an aggressive bat but for whatever reason he's never played a senior T20.

Allen is going to hit a T20 200 someday, but not today.

Bracewell looking all class today. Put himself at no 3 after Finn left and has batted at good as Finn would have. No slogs, proper shots.

Jesus been watching the Cricinfo feed. Sounds like a hell of an innings on what is no doubt a Pukekura Park sized ground
