Was trying to keep the list to about 20 and only the truly elite. Most importantly players that warrant legitimate consideration for an AT XI and separated themselves from the competition by a decent margin. No one does that quite like Gilly.

If I were to strictly restrict the list to 20 then I may have to break the sections down to:

3 openers: Hobbs, Hutton, Gavaskar
6 middle order bats: Bradman, Sobers, V Richards, Tendulkar, Lara, G Chappell
2 wicket keepers: Gilchrist, Knott
3 spinners: Warne, O'Reilly, Murali
6 fast bowlers: Marshall, Hadlee, Lillee, McGrath, Ambrose, Imran

Pretty similar to mine, just have Smith over Chappell and Steyn over Lilllee and Imran.

Fair enough, but they're the only openers in the last 50 year period other than Gavaskar on the list. Younis is one of 20+ middle-order players. It's not unreasonable but I'd still have both Sehwag and Hayden ahead of him tbh.

If I was going to kick them off the list it would be for either G.Smith or Cook. And if I'm kicking someone off for Younis it's probably Kohli.

Yeah but Younis is definitely better than your Williamson's though. Should be there for sure.

Farokh Engineer above Kirmani for sure.
Played as an opener for India and averaged 33, was an aggressive stroke maker unlike the boring wicketkeepers of the past.
