Bleh FHK threw away another winnable game in the T20 league last night. 10k rating advantage, at home, won toss, bowled first, kept them to 128. All going to plan. Then the top order imploded and we were 26/4 in 3.3 overs! Agnes Chow hit 40* from number 6, and added 39 off 42 with Ivan Lam, but the tail couldn't hang around under the pressure. Fell just 9 runs shot. Disappointing.

We're still in first place but only barely holding on. Need to win and win well in the last few matches to get that promotion.

Not quite mascot/icon as they are one of our better players but I did consider selling Rob Tweddle - decided against as he and Faisal Jawad represent continuity given the amount of squad turnover I have had - both Winton CC academy products too.

He has incredibly balanced skills lol. And he generally plays well. Given how cheap he is he's excellent value for money, despite the low ceiling. I hope he isn't being coached though...

Here’s the reason I ask - first bowler to take 100 wickets for the club. HS and first 50 in his last game. Is in my strongest Dev team but now I’m getting relegated he’s not worth playing due to such low pot.

Bit tough to drop a 34 skill player in the first half of his Dev career IMO. Are there lower-hanging fruit?

Yea and he's got a bit going for him batting wise. Realistically not all 11 of you Dev players need to be future senior-team prospects. You usually have 1-3 senior players age out each season and just need to replace them as they go, so there is space to carry a Dev-specialists who you dump after they turn 21. Orlando could stick around as a new ball bowler and lower/middle order batter for a few seasons essentially just to win you games.

A bonus-point win chasing 250 against the cheaters is pretty sweet. JdP hits another 100: he sure likes smashing runs in SODs. Outshowing all the other journeymen of my side.

But what’s the benefit? Maybe he’ll come back into the side next year to try and get promotion but right now when I’m already relegated I’m picking

FHK took out their frustration from their losses in the last couple of weeks against a bot in the SOD today. 473/6 in 50 overs. Proceeded to get 25 overs in their legs in the 2nd innings, bowling them out for 65. Keeps us in first place!

ZCC pulled themselves out of the relegation zone with a bonus point win against the bottom ranked team. Good results all round :)

Yea, there's no good answer here. You can always just keep him and play him in CWC if you can afford the wage? Not every decision you make has to be tactically perfect, it is a game after all :p

First game of the year, and what a delight to be starting with CWC4 :)

FHK and ZCC both put in excellent shifts bowling first after winning the toss, and both need around 160 to win. No wickets lost yet, but still plenty of cricket to ne played.

Astronauts also need 160ish to win, and are now 45/2. AXW putting up a fight.

JCC and The Wild Geese have both scored in excess of 270 batting first! They have also each taken 2 wickets in 7 overs.

And last but not least JoJo have scored 235 against the Hunks and have taken one wicket for just 16.

Astronauts vs AXW probably the game to watch atm. Looking forward to the GG CC vs Morpork clash later today.

260 is a good target. Would be a dispiriting start to lose to GG again even if it is a dead rubber - the batting order is a bit more solid today (Mthabela at eight) so prayer circle
