This is what I`m happiest about... I would rather lose games giving youngsters a chance than maybe win a game because we where conservative. We need to rebuild to a strong team and we need to be brave to do that.First time seeing the big left armer Jansen, obviously quite raw but it is nice to see SA back a youngster who they believe has talent instead of making them join the que.
Rabada is the oldest of the seamers at 26!This is what I`m happiest about... I would rather lose games giving youngsters a chance than maybe win a game because we where conservative. We need to rebuild to a strong team and we need to be brave to do that.
Which is good, picking Olivier or Stuurman at 29 is not looking towards the future.Rabada is the oldest of the seamers at 26!
Update: Just produced his four best balls of the dayYoung, gangly Jansen does not, at this stage, look as if he is working entirely in unison with his limbs
After the first over I have not minded his boundary balls. He at least is looking for that movement and bowling full. Straying onto the legs is what happens with left arm'ers against RH batsmen.Jansen needed that to be taken. Bowled some good ones amongst the boundary balls.
I think Olivier would have been the immediate best bowling pick. I think Jansen is still a bit raw. But I like the overall thinking and much prefer that thinking coming from selection and coach than dour conservative thinking.I think Olivier is definitely the next cab off the rank after Nortje though. Which I don't mind,he has tons of FC experience and proven Test credentials in SA.
