Whatever it takes!!!
He is not retirning from tests.
Try to look at the context of my post instead of writing a "gimme attention" post. You utter imbecile it’s the one thing that actually stopped us getting sub 200 basically even match.
He is not, I should have explained what I meant in a better way, I feel "sometimes" the management looks at him(over a specialist batsmen) even though we need some cushioning in the batting department.Jadeja isn't overrated lol.
He's been averaging 40 with the bat for 4 years, he's hardly any more overrated than the likes of Rahane. He is not, I should have explained what I meant in a better way, I feel "sometimes" the management looks at him(over a specialist batsmen) even though we need some cushioning in the batting department.
Just to clarify, Jadeja is not overrated as a cricketer and has been an asset, the talk of his retirement to focus on ODIs came up and I was just looking at the positives that might emerge from that.
Is this some kind of a joke?Since we need Jadeja in white ball cricket(where his impact is even bigger) and we have an alternative in tests.
He's bigger for us in tests than he is in ODIs - what on earth are you on about?Try to look at the context of my post instead of writing a "gimme attention" post.
Since we need Jadeja in white ball cricket(where his impact is even bigger) and we have an alternative in tests, I was just looking at the pros and cons. Although Jadeja's averages 27 with the bat in the last 2 years. He has been nothing but an asset as an all-rounder with his useful contributions with both bat and ball(and in the field).
The issue lies here, does he fit in the top 7 of a batting line-up(in SENA) that consists of a misfiring Rahane, hit or miss Pujara and Kohli, and Pant who likes to play with full freedom and aggression? Axar or Ashwin won't be batting at 7 even if they do get picked, so they are out of this discussion.
noIs this some kind of a joke?
Name one guy who can replace him in ODIs. Axar is the only one that comes close but with the bat there is a massive difference, he can't provide a late order flourish like Jadeja did in Australia to bump up the score. He's bigger for us in tests than he is in ODIs - what on earth are you on about?
Venkatesh Iyer? Early days though, and I don't think looking for Jadeja's replacement so quickly will really solve the ODI side's batting issues.Name one guy who can replace him in ODIs. His military mediums are comparable to what Shankar bowled, surely you can't trust him to bowl 10 overs in an ODI for you. He is improving though and might get better in future.Venkatesh Iyer? Just apologize and accept JadejaHe is not, I should have explained ...
LOL, whom am I to accept or reject him. He is a great asset in any format. I was just looking at what could happen in case he is really thinking of retirement.Just apologize and accept Jadeja
bc do you even watch cricket? he rarely hits 140 every now and then, can regularly hit late 130s and prefers bowling in the mid 130s and use his variations in t20sHis military mediums are comparable to what Shankar bowled
Firstly, nothing wrong with being military medium if you have something else going on for you(swing, cutters, etc).bc do you even watch cricket? he rarely hits 140 every now and then, can regularly hit late 130s and prefers bowling in the mid 130s and use his variations in t20s
we don't know how he prefers to bowl in fc cricket
