true story but he still bowled a bit in every test, and had many chances.not snagging one was remarkable.
funny game cricket where someone can bowl crap and get 2 quick wickets, others bowl OK and don't get a sausage for a reward.
Green did bowl well at points vs India aswell tbh, pant was streaky vs him and Bihari/Rahane had a ton of edges fall short in the 1st/second test

It has, but halba may have a point. Not just the personnel, but where some of better players are in their careers.
yep its true. this is the worst. the prior ENG teams faced tough attacks, peaking attacks like johnson and ryano at full flight(some of the best pace/swing bowling ive ever seen in AU conditions, i think peak ryano was our BEST ever swing bowler in modern cricket ) here they are folding to the likes of starc, lyon and cameron green...

this is by far the WORST england test team ever. against a fairly mediocre australian XI lineup missing the best test cricketer on the earth(cummins), and the 2nd best fast bowler in au conditions (josh hazlewood)

i can understand past ENG sides bending over to the likes of mcgrath, warne, lee or an on fire mitch johnson or ryano, but this aus XI is a well below par attack and ENG are still pathetic.
Don't sit on the fence, tell us how you really feel.

Why the hell Ashes in Australia have 5 match . England don't deserve more than 2 test match series in Australia .Only indian team can defeat Australia in Australia .
Yeah we are a complete waste of space and made the last three tests pointless. Silverwood won't go anywhere due to the ECB happy with a guy not willing to kick up a fuss about the state of test cricket.

Unfortunately Money talks in cricket(or everywhere) . No way England deserve more than 2 Test in a series in Australia.

Whatever it takes!!!
To be fair, I think every team should play 3 test series. The 4 and 5 test series are great but will always be dictated by financial power but at the very least, every team should play 3 tests in their tours. And home teams can rest main players if they feel the visitors are not as much of a threat or whatever. But the only way any team will get better even over generations is if they play enough and their players figure out what those conditions are and what adjustments are needed to succeed, so that even if they don't, their next generation will etc.

Didn't get to watch all of green's spell's today cause work, how was he? Saw he got stokes and root out and had a catch dropped off robinson.

Sharp. Touched mid 140s and got some nice out swing. Did beat Root (lol) twice before edging it. Genuinely improved from the Indian series with the ball and just need a score

Green's series so far feels a bit like Mitchell Marsh in 2015/2019 where his bowling has been really good for his role but his batting has nowhere near what you'd want from someone in your top 6.

Agree that with no-one exactly banging down the door for his batting position, he should be given a fair bit of rope. If he comes good, he'll be a huge asset

I liked MMarsh as a bowler but Green is total next level as a bowler

Lol England. Never fail to disappoint

That shot from Malan is absolute junk. You're 80 on a road and you play some swashbuckling cut against an underpressure Starc. Incredibly poor

He'd missed a bunch of cut shots leading up to it, especially off Lyon. It was coming. Malan can play but far too loose to hope he's going to average 40 let alone anymore.

This is left-field but I would leave Woakes in the XI for the 3rd test and ask him to bat at 6. He is definitely quite accomplished and a better batsman than an 8 imo. Maybe that extra responsibility will give him the confidence to develop his batting even further
Robinson looks knackered so he misses out and Pope is making himself unselectable. Burns only still there due to lack of alternatives really

Hameed
Malan
Root
Stokes
Woakes
Lawrence
