Once upon a time there was an Australian team that would never back down on scoring at a rapid pace in this format and then there is this Australian team.

Well this team might have 3 home guns in Warner, Smith, and Labuschagne but the rest of the top 7 is pretty inexperienced and unproven (incl Head despite the 100 at the Gabba).

I don't think they really could have done much more to be honest. England never really let their wheels fall off like they have done against Smith in the past.

Australians once again can't accept that Jimmy is a god. Should have actually had more, don't forget the Buttler drop.

Once again doing it under clear skies in the heat, back in his fourth spell, you love to see it.

He’s great at home and when it’s swinging but the bloke actually gets dropped when they’re worried the conditions won’t hoop around.

A man who literally made a career out of talking about getting hit in the balls.

No surprise he’s a racist.

If he was anywhere near as good as you lot think he is then he would have taken less than 25 overs to actually deliver

The only one dropped is inevitably the batsman, when Jimmy nicks him off and our murderer's row of fielding imbeciles puts it down.

It’s ok for England to bowl back of a length and dry imo. Not the worst thing if Australia bat the whole of today but with only ~240ish on the board so they can bowl them out tomorrow and bat in better conditions.

Would end up better than if they bowl them out and have to bat under lights for 10 overs tonight and face them tomorrow morning when they’re fresh again.

Of course it’s probably just more likely that Aus will just pile on 400+
Yeah big risk of having to bat under lights anyway tomorrow night if they don't take enough wickets today. Will get a lot easier with the old ball
this looks really likely now. Australia should just come out swinging now so they can bowl with the new ball under lights with their 3 swing bowlers.

My 5th away Ashes on CW and the Aussie posters still haven’t shifted their view on Jimmy from the first one. Sad!

Get yer hand off it mate. Pains me to say it but this innings has been timed to perfection. I can not think of being in a better realistic position than 400 runs on the board and about to bowl with more than half the last session to go.

England are truly ****ed here......massive innings loss incoming.
