They've shown this "% of balls hitting the stumps" stat a couple of times implying its a sign that England have bowled too short. Not sure it means much unless we get a comparison with a normal day where they bowl fuller? Like, good corridor bowling isn't going to hit the stumps on the majority of deliveries anyway.

i'd really like someone to come up with a "% of balls played off front foot/back foot/indeterminate" tbh. that's ultimately what really matters.

I was thinking exactly this yesterday when they showed the graphic. 5% of balls hitting the stumps seems fine to me. You try get those numbers up much further you're just bowling into the pads
