Already proved himself in England conditions imo, but yes an Indian tour will be interestingThe real test for him will be in the next year when we finally have a bunch of away tours again.
He’s faced a very good set of attacks already. He’s overperforming, but it’s not because he’s had it easy.Maybe, but he was shaky as **** yesterday. How many of his tons have been against world class opposition?
Genuine question, I can't watch the guy bat for more than 5 minutes. It gives me PTSD.
He's scored runs against good attacks, but 70% of his Tests have been on the roads at home, where he averages 77.Maybe, but he was shaky as **** yesterday. How many of his tons have been against world class opposition?

Yeah he was, but he was good in Brisbane on a deck doing a fair bit too. It was almost like he and Warner swapped places yesterday from the first test where the latter was the one who was tinny AF.Maybe, but he was shaky as **** yesterday. How many of his tons have been against world class opposition?

TBF I don’t think the wickets in that Indian series were that flat?but 70% of his Tests have been on the roads at home, where he averages 77.
He looks like a 45 avg player to me too, but getting there from here will be painful. Would need a couple of years of averaging 30, at which point the temptation is to start making changes to his technique or shot selection. And I think he’s pretty much maximising his talent as he is.I think he's roughly a 45 average player overall, but tbh he can't any more than what he's done so far. Got a great appetite for runs, usually really patient and doesn't seem to gaf how long it takes him to grind out a score. He's got the right mindset for a three, especially one typically coming in after an early wicket.
Actually made runs mostly in some relatively rough conditions outside of that 1 summer v PakistanMaybe, but he was shaky as **** yesterday. How many of his tons have been against world class opposition?

Interested in you saying that...given he really struggled against the barrage Stokes gave him. That pitch isn't particularly full of bounce and Stokes isn't express pace. Yet I don't remember him particularly struggling against Wood last Test on what seemed to have more pace and bounce. And I don't remember him having nearly as many issues with Wagner two years ago as Smith etc did.I think he'll average near enough 50 tbh. Half his games will be on home pitches after all and he's basically a lab created batsman for modern Australian pitches; his defensive game is so well tuned for them that he'll always score at least some runs at home.
But yeah I think most people think he surely can't actually be as good as, say, Steve Smith. He looks merely very, very good as opposed to transcendental like peak Smith did.
Thought Sydney was flat, Gabba maybe not (as much?). Even then only managed 1 ton and a couple of high 50s, missing out on a Sydney ton but cashing in at the Gabba after getting dropped against our least experienced attack in the last 50 years.TBF I don’t think the wickets in that Indian series were that flat?
The fact that it's not a put-on doesn't mean it can't be annoying. The talking to himself is a trait that shouldn't really bother anyone imo. I fully believe it's him and not an act or something
Now there's something I've not heard in a long time.Yes, but what’s his first chance average?
The 'no run' after leaving the ball is pretty silly. Particularly because there's no guarantee Jos will catch it, so there's a big chance runs could be on offer at any stage.I find Labuschagne's batting style to be in the usual workmanlike Australian vein and not particularly ugly in actual strokeplay. The leaves are hideous though and the "no run" after letting the ball go through is downright ********.
