DoG's Test Innings and Bowling Performances. Updates thread.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
It's interesting that Dudley Nourse's superlative 231 in Johannesburg in 1935 makes the list, but Stan McCabe's even more celebrated innings from the same Test doesn't (though it's understandable as Nourse made more runs against a better attack).

@Days of Grace what were the ratings of McCabe's three classics - the 187*, 189* and 232? They're probably all hamstrung a little by the fact that, despite the peaks of batsmanship he scaled in all three innings, Australia won none of those matches.
I'd suggest it might be because the SA bowling attack wasn't all that crash hot.

Pant's 97 in the Sydney draw: 10.34
Pant's 89* in the Brisbane win: 12:11

Kyle Mayers' knock though made the top 100!

What’s the rating for jack hobbs 93 not out in 4th innings against sa in matting wickets.Which was in sa in 1910,3rd test?

Migara

International Coach
What is odd is that 6/ top 20 are from Sri Lankan batsmen. and some of them are not even classical test bats at all!

Xix2565

International Regular
Going by DoG's current list, looks like the No. 1 position went Bannerman 165* -> Bradman 270 -> Botham 149* -> Gooch 154* -> Lara 153* -> Laxman 281.

Not a bad list to be in.

I love how pretty much every ton scored in the 19th century is a decent shot at making the list due to team totals being so low back then

I bet every time someone tonned up the next highest score was like 20

Interesting that Steve Waugh doesn't make the list at all, as he was known for 'clutch' tons.

I guess two things going against him, the clutchest ton he ever got was in an ODI WC, and most of his clutch test tons were scored in ashes series against weak bowlers. Still, surprised his 200 against '95 WI is nowhere to be found
