But is that record really impressive when SA has won just 1 series at home against AUS/ENG in last 17 years ?SA went 9 years unbeaten away from.home which even mighty Aus didn't manage.
It is an impressive record regardless. And during their peak Aus were the only team that could beat them at home. But is that record really impressive when SA has won just 1 series at home against AUS/ENG in last 17 years ?
I want to be able to pull off such confidence when I make random assertions at work. The invincibles 1948 would most likely beat all teams you mentioned at their respective home.

Nah. He bowled his doosra differently from others. He was a chucker
Yeah. Time to create another Ashwin 20-pager thread now.Good to see that we’re on page 13
What makes you think it was too much burden? His personal perfomances were great, his win rate is the best of any RSA captain, and he wanted it.Pollock wasn't that bad of a captain but it was too much burden to bear. Sadly unlike Kallis, Pollock didn't get his due after retirement.
I told you we are going to reach page 26. With contributions from you and me of course.Good to see that we’re on page 13

True but their secret sauce in 2004 was Kasprowicz I thought. He was pretty important in the results they achieved in the SC in that 2004 and a year before and after period.Cummins+McGrath+Gillespie in Asian conditions is HOT
I didn't watch the series live so can't comment with 100% faith but kaspro averaged 34 in Asia over his career. Not bad for a pacer but nowhere near Gillespie or McGrath.True but their secret sauce in 2004 was Kasprowicz I thought. I meant the role he played. He was almost their second spinner by keeping it very tight, bowling cutters and reverse swing, picking the odd wicket but generally bowling a lot of overs providing control for the captain.I didn't watch the series live so can't comment with 100% faith but kaspro averaged 34 in Asia over his career. He also won a game in India in 1998, if I remember.I meant the role he played. He was almost their second spinner by keeping it very tight, bowling cutters and reverse swing, picking the odd wicket but generally bowling a lot of overs providing control for the captain.
He definitely wasn't as good as McGrath and Gillespie in Asia, but he was always seen as a bit of an Asian specialist, based mostly on that one 1998 series. Bit of a myth tbh but had some truth behind itI didn't watch the series live so can't comment with 100% faith but kaspro averaged 34 in Asia over his career. Alexa, please define oxymoronBit of a myth tbh but had some truth behind it
When you have bradman in your team, every one would be confident. As I mentioned ‘most likely’beat. That team even without bradman is an ATG team itself.((I want to be able to pull off such confidence when I make random assertions at work.))
