U19 Vice-Captain
50 overs. More details here

The top 5 from the Championship division and top 2 from the Second division will qualify for the playoff
That was lazy of me ! apologies and thanks

ataraxia

International Coach
Travelled to Australia for my Dev side to play the Ashgrove Astronauts. The home team were dismissed for 155 on a flat pitch, Rusty marauding the tail. In 2 overs he got 5 wickets on his way to 6-23, his best career figures. A Deshi, Umair Siddique, was left without partners; stranded on a career-highest 60* (63).

The chase was straightforward with Rusty completing a very strong all-round performance with 37 (38). Richard Simmonds batted through the innings for 55* (86). Kurt hit a few bombs at the end, 43* (31), to carry the team home with only two wickets lost. Marcuss' team won the concurrent CWC3 fixture.

4 semi-finals, 3 upsets!

The Astronauts are the only top-seeded team to proceed to the Finals stage. The 8th placed team will play for the CWC3 Plate against TMO, who quite remarkably still have a chance at some silverware despite finishing dead last in 22nd place!

And competing for the CWC3 Championship this Saturday are 3rd place Jura CC and 5th place GG CC! The fact that 1st placed Morpork and 2nd placed FHK both didn't make it through is a testimony to why we play these KO games. It's compelling drama!

The CWC3 final will prove to be a historic event, since for the first time ever a brand new manager will hold the trophy! Congrats to @Charlie B and Jura CC, and @SillyCowCorner1 and GG CC! Jura CC took down two strong teams on their way to the final, while GG CC took both FHK and ZCC's scalps - trust me, revenge series will be arranged ;)

SCC1 in particular has had a remarkable weekend - Moooo have made it into round 5 of the Stumped Cup! CW represent :toot: Can't remember the last time ZCC or FHK have made it that far.

I think it was because I was top of Plate knockout sides so effectively the winner of our semi-final got the home advantage for final. Effectively being top of Plate sides or CWC Championship sides guaranteed you a home semi-final and final (if you won SF.) You won semi-final against me so effectively took my place as home side in the final.
Yea this is correct

GG CC get - hear this - 378-7 in this week's Dev fixture. And it isn't even a bot bash - it's division 2! Good omen for the grand final...
That opening partnership between Bram Human and Ernst Levy looked like it was savage. Set the tone for the match.
Bram once again flirting in the 90s and getting out.

ZCC are playing an interesting Dev friendly with the Astronauts atm. No Ramalingam or Ahsan (both playing the senior fixture vs ataraXIa later today), slight ratings edge (41k vs 38k) but playing away from home. Scored 168 batting first and they are now 77/2 in 17 overs. At this rate they should chase this down, pitch looks good to bat on and we're missing our frontline seamer. But you never know with Dev cricket - if we can nip out 2 quick wickets here it will be a different game.

With the required rate that low and the amount of wickets in hand for the AA's, it is a walk in the park for them.

118/5 was precarious but Bennet has batted well, this game is done. Dropping him on 20 has proven costly.

Needed more runs in these conditions too - Halliday and Madani missed out. Bowling's been good, seems like there are too many gaps in the field. I supposed this is what happens when you have a 15 year old leading the side.

Isn't there like a rivalry between a couple of guys for the captaincy?

In GG CC, there is the Levy-Sutherland rivalry
In Mooo, it's Meyiwa-Gul rivalry.

I love Sutherland as a captain, but Levy is the more seasoned guy.
I love Gul because he's influential, but Meyiwa is more badass!

I do progression planning for captains. So when my Dev team captain turns 20/21 and is playing regular senior team cricket (like Ahsan is now), I pass leadership onto another 15-17 year old, ideally a kid who will be in a first-XI player for the Dev side during his career, and who could break into the senior side.

Umer Ashraf is the next in line. Precocious talent, bit of a project player, should be a T20 gun. Interested to see how he develops.

It's a good way to go I guess, the gap years between the guys are what matter.

A smooth transition, with minor hiccups, of course...but a resolute and firm plan ahead. Hope Amer recognizes his importance in the team and step up as a leader.

ZCC vs ataraXIa in a full 50 over friendly is underway. Good warmup for CWC4, and a good opportunity for us to test out Sampath Ramalingam in place of veteran Bikswing Nouding, who is confirmed to be leaving the club in a few days.

We've opted to bat first on a typically green home wicket, outrate AXI 61K vs 55K. Not a big advantage is must be said. Solid start so far. Shahbaz Furqan - leading runscorer in ZCC vs AXI matches with 373 runs, 90 runs ahead of 2nd place Zack Yattack - is on 36 off 39 already, dominating a 49 run opening partnership.

111/1 to 177/6. Yikes.

We've batted our 50 for 219. My gut tells me this is below par, especially with an untested bowling combination, but hey it's runs on the board. Good knocks by Ahsan and Zahid to give us something to bowl at.
