Players who would suck now

Absolute Codswallop!!!!. How did you arrive at this figure? You may have seen "videos of his batting" BUT i saw the man bat on numerous occasions in person and i assure you , you are so far off the mark to be laughable. I would like to know the source of your information on what "your figure" would be his average. Bradman was / is in a class of his own and you, young fella obviously know very little about the game of Cricket . (Just for your own info i am in a position to judge your pathetic attempt at starting a contemptous thread having played Grade, State and Australian rep Cricket giving up the gamewhen i was 44 and still playing "A" grade)
Absolutely agree with everything. Gnske is wery well known for making foolish posts.

@JBMAC - I'm in agreement with your comments on Bradman. However, I am puzzled by your identity. I've seen elsewhere on CW that you are John McLean but if you are indeed him then, being born in 1946 (some years after me), you must have been VERY young to have witnessed the Don in person. When and where were you fortunate enough to see him bat?

After he retired in exhibition games, as far as I can tell.

Donald Bradman. I swear, I saw videos of his "Batting". We think of him as the landmark of batting when really what did he have to face? Idiots. Larwood with long hops? Yes please sir, averaging 50? That would be his norm now.

Someone like Bradman would average 46.51 today.
One of the reasons I don't watch videos of cricket from pre-70s. I love to read about players from the time, but surely the game was not as matured at that point and hence I'll only be disappointed if I look at the actual footage.

E-EX ACTLY. White men can't play spin. I guarantee you spinners these days, even someone like Lamicchane would rule over Bradman.

He would have been fisted by Saeed Ajmal at his prime and whined about him being a cheater.
Considering he batted against Hedley Verity (in tests) as well as Bill O'Reilly and Clarrie Grimmett (in 1st class and the nets) he would've owned every spinner except perhaps Murali.

Yeah 60’s cricket players don’t even deserve a mention.

This is all Kerry Packer’s fault. But seriously lots of people only seem interested in the 70’s players and onwards because of how much more popular TV’s started to become and the more available footage of them. Sad really.

I can only surmise that JBMAC's memory is like a VHS tape that has been rewinded too many times to the Sharon Stone scene in Basic Instict. He's gone back so many times it's all just fuzzy now.

I made that original post while smashed but I'm going to stand by it.
