Skimming it, based on the coverage. He's still in there when he does it but not substantially.
So are you actually watching the match or just cricinfo commentary?

He's running right across the middle of the pitch then in front of the non-striker.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

I mean from what I can see he's running in the area where the batsman is standing.

If he was running half a metre or more ahead of that where the ball night land then it'd be an issue

Plenty of non-strikers over the years would have positioned something in the line of Ashwin’s follow through
This generally only happens when someone is attempting to field the ball and they get in front or collide with the non striker.

Can't think of any bowler in living memory who, as part of their deliberate bowling plan, ends up completely crossing the stumps to the other side, almost to the point of being off the pitch

Clearly you're just switching tabs, because I saw the graphic. It was skimming.

Just like Tom Latham is skimming on the verge of a match defining ton.

Not Terrible

He isn't in the danger zone though because he's running across the crease, they showed pretty clearly on replay he wasn't a metre out or anything. Still dire.

Can we appreciate this battle and 'slowness' when people moan about cricketers these days not having the mettle for tests due to t20s
No no you have it all wrong. Tom Latham is really bad for playing slowly and Will Young threw his wicket away because Tom was playing not good.

Well, that was unconvincing from Kane.

Takes a bit of skill to make runs even while unconvincing. Latham knows this well, superior batsman of this side.
