*Official* Yorkshire CCC racism crisis thread

Is it just me or is there almost complete silence from current English players in support of Rafiq apart from Root's weak statement?
Well considering Tom Harrison refused to say their is institutional racism at Yorkshire CC.

I'm sure players will be briefed not to speak about the subject until such time the ECB lets them.

Which is wholly pathetic by the ECB

Wonder if Bairstow will speak out or have an opinion on this? He would have been in the same dressing room and played alot with Rafiq. Also would likely have been more privy to this, as he hadn't established a permanent place in the England side and would likely have played much more first class cricket than Root.

Who knows.

I think reading the report this could have been somewhat nipped in the bud if some of the senior people stepped in. Supposedly the racists behaved themselves when Gillespie was coach and Rafiq loved his spell in charge.

Root an England captain, while Bairstow was a t20 gun in high demand unlike others were not reliant on Yorkshire at all to pay the bills, so if they knew about it what would they have had to lose to ask the scumbags to rein it in?

Quite depressing that social media is full of people defending Alex Hales saying he has done nothing wrong.
Yeah, if the name of his dog refers explicitly to that name being used by players to refer to certain players, it's piss poor.

Weirdly enough, I was just discussing the name of one of my uncle's dogs with another of my uncle's the other day. When I was young, one of my uncles, who was an alcoholic **** by the way, thought it would be a good idea to name his dog the 'n' word (and yes, it was black). Aside from the fact it outed him as a racist ****head, it resulted in us as kids calling the dog whilst being completely unaware of the connotations of what we were saying - we were around 6 years old at the time, and that word was one I didn't hear until much later in my life. The name was shortened to the first 3 letters much of the time, but I reckon it was still clear what it referred to. I'm also certain that we would have called it by its full name at times. It's such a ****ed up thing to do, and to have your kids and your sister's kids walking around calling the dog without understanding what the name means is really ****ing shitty too.

I think he got run out of town in a community that had a big indigenous Australia population once. Whether it's because he was drunk and said something stupid or simply called his dog by its racist name, I'm not sure. It was probably both because the guy was a ****ing idiot.
