Re.Topley yeah Starfighter his figures weren't overly impressive. Just feel he has the attributes to succeed in Australia, similar to Tremlett really. Also left armers these days are so in vogue and can make a point of difference to an attack. You need to get Smith and Labuschagne out of their comfort zone and they have been troubled by left armers in the past (Wagner especially)
I'd go for Garton over Topley, Topley is made of glass, don't see him lasting a Test Match.

I think Garton has a long way to go before he's a Test standard bowler, though he does have a bit of pace. Topley looked very average in the FC matches he played for Surrey this summer. I'd definitely have taken Mahmood, can only assume he's still injured maybe.

If I was going to make a leftfield bowling selection it would have been Luke Wood. Doesn't have great stats but bowls left arm at sharp pace and isn't dependent on swing. And is a good number 8 bat.

Stanlake's biggest problem (aside from injuries ofc) is he just doesn't pitch the damn thing up anywhere near often enough. I well remember that otherwise dreadful JAMODI series in England, he looked easily the best bowler for that series, and that mainly came from bowling a fuller length. But instead he trys to be some sort of "enforcer" and usually ends up bleeding runs as a result

Most useful thing MRF could contribute is a bunch of rubber padded boxes to store all the fastmen here in so they don't snap in half getting into a car, tying their shoelaces or something else dumb like that
They can't all be that dumb...I mean one of these guys (Nathan Ellis) took a hattrick against powerhouse Bangladesh Tigers just recently....

It was not literal, just a cheap remark about how injury prone most Australian fast bowlers are of recent years

Frankly even reading my own post back it didn't entirely make sense. Ahh well, smashing beers while Travis Head smashes sixes, life is good

If Lawrence plays I can see a situation where he does a lot of bowling as Silverwood goes in with four pacers.
