Stumped!

Amazing that both GG and Mooo played the same number of games.

Mooo are slowing becoming a force to be reckoned with. We were able to bruise the ego of Etisham Baksh in the win over GG CC a few days ago.

An awesome recovery from the GG pair of Cornelius Human and 'keeper' Arie Fouche have taken them to a relatively comfort zone.

They were reduced to 73 for 5, due to some terrific bowling from Mooo's bowlers...since then they have added a valuable 82 off 93 balls.

Cornelius Human is on 60 (73)
Fouche on 26 (56)

Yea, but good skill set for a lower order bat and middle overs bowler.
This I agree with....speaking of, I have snatched up two GG players who I like: Sivaram and Sajjad Rabbani (recruited during the BD youth pull phase).

Rabbani is a decent all-rounder and I think he fits right into the Mooo setup. He's gone for runs in his 'debut' game currently playing.

A spectacular top-of-the-table clash in SOD yesterday. Putting Leggs Eleven in to bat, we kept it very tight in the early stages, but Batt and Gavde's opening stand of just 75 off 22 overs allowed the rest of the batting order to bash with freedom. Van Heerdens, Bronkhorst and Fouche jr. got badly hit, and Fred Clarke too apart from the one over where he got out allrounder David Hanson. A target of 285 was needed, although we could live with a bonus point loss needing 228. The Dynamo batsmen gave it all from ball one, peppering the boundaries, but neither Marita, Kotze or Van Heerdens could really find form and with 15 overs left we needed 114 to win from just four wickets. Incredibly, new acquisition Louis Grobbelaar turned back the years, hitting 14 off a Liam Nutt over to bring the required run rate below eight. From there, he scored his first competitive fifty in five seasons and sharing a seventh-wicket partnership with Fouche jr. for 113, including sixteen boundaries, off 73 balls. Menno Fouche fell off the last ball, but still propelled himself to the leading runscorer for the season, now having 731 runs at a strike rate of 99. With two matches left, we lead by seven points and have a bot bash in hand, so Div2 next season it is :)

GG plays Winton in a crucial mid-table clash
10th place Moooo takes on TMO who are sitting at the bottom of the table.

Both games are going to be tough...tight.

Mooo bowled out for 174 in 38.4 overs. Aat Bernstein top-scored with 48 (82), supported by Shanuka Veenstra 34(37), captain Meyiwa made 27 (39). Newest addition to Moooo from GG CC, Sajjad Rabbani chipped in with 22(26) coming in at #7

at some point in the last few weeks FHK managed to take top spot in CWC3! En route a big win over the Hunks, tho Nalin Mittur is playing a blinder.

ZCC wrapping up a good win vs Astronauts too - this might be the strongest Dev XI we put out all competition, with both Garner and Lickley set to leave the club in coming weeks. Grubs is 3 weeks away from ageing out too - I've yet to identify a replacement batter for him! Might have been a bit hasty listing Garner up

Got reduced to 67-6 in a friendly vs GG CC. No worries, Kurt Murdoch was there to shepherd the tail along to 208-9. Iceman is great lol, Murdoch got 66* (100). Wasn't enough though as GG chased it down handily. Good game, I should really bat second more often.

Got reduced to 26-6 (7.1) in a T20 against MTO. This time Murdoch was out. Kind of gave credence to my decision to play a specialist defensive bat at #8. :ph34r:100-8 shouldn't be enough lol, this experiment in setting aggressive orders isn't working.

GG CC have beaten @ataraxia in the last two Friendly OD encounters. The team looks just about settled now. The guys are in their right places.

1. Ernst Levy, the captain and one half of the opening pair. He can dig in and bat for some time at a decent strike rate. Also, he can give a few useful overs with his pace. I forget to mention that he is captain as well.

2. Bram Human, well he is gonna keep on smashing like Jayasuriya. A useful pace bowler, but I haven’t bowled him in the longest while. Dynamic player

3. Jayraj D Souza, one of the best batsmen in the team. Nuff said. A batting all rounder.

4. Riaan de Villiers, the green batsman in the setup. He’s delivered in the past few games so his place is guaranteed.

5. Peter Sutherland, these days he plays as a genuine batsman having transitioned from a bowling all rounder. He is a quick runner and influential as well. Vice-captain

6. Cornelius Human, another one of the dynamic players. Delivers with both bat and ball. Once sold him and then bought him back.

7. Arie Fouche, keeper-batsman. He’s been slowly establishing himself as one of the best keepers in CW world. He makes stumpings off of pace bowlers.

8. Kasun Obeysekere, a bowling all rounder in the mold of Shaun Pollock

9. Babar Ijaz, snatched from the market for 1.5 million. And since joining GG CC he’s picked up 15 wickets at 10.87. He bowls 95 mph bombs. He trapped Rusty Frost LBW with a 91mph ball today for a golden duck. An important player he already is in GG CC. I had to sell Sajjad Rabbani to Moooo to make place for him.

10. Christo Theron, a left arm wrist spinner who is also vying for the spot of spinner in the team with ‘bruised ego’ Etisham Baksh.

11. Roger Attlee, the second fastest bowler after Ijaz, he can reverse it in the middle overs.

?? - I am sorry to blow our own trumpet , but we have (with one match to go) in our 2nd full season obtained promotion in the Division 3 DEV League. A small step as someone or other once said , but a giant leap for Jura - giving some joy to our 997 fans.

We might now increase the ground size to 10,000 and next season look to try and avoid relegation in DEV D2 , consolidate and improve in OD D3 and try and push for promotion in T20 D3 (there should be something for the fans to be concerned or excited about in all formats of the game).

We very hope much of course to be invited again to the next CWC league. It is very well organised, provides the fun of regular competitive matches and the chance to waffle on here and read you guys illuminating missives! ?

ZCC are going to field a young looking side in tonight's T20 friendly vs ataraXIa. Should be interesting. No international players, Ahsan captaining.
