Agreed either Latham or Nicholls should be at 3 to play that anchor role in these conditions.

I think given they've now been able to change their mindset around what a good score, and Patel/McConchie/Ravindra in great shape with the ball, we're really competitive now.

Why the **** did they replace sears after one game where he bowled a single over? Utter insanity.
To be fair, they replaced rotated him by one of either Duffy (also 1 game, 1 single over on tour so far - at that point) or Kuggeleijn (no games, no overs).

Allen-Nicholls-Latham-Young-Ravindra-Blundell should be the batting order IMO

Agree with consensus. Given you don't need to hit sixes and batting your 20 at 5-6 rpo for 100-130 is imposing, a very cakey order is fine.

Ravindra
Allen
Latham (c)
Young
Nicholls
Blundell (wk)
CdG
McConchie

I'd disagree on the Nicholls and Ravindra order, but otherwise agree.

Not that I have particularly strong thoughts on Nicholls/Ravindra relative strengths to the current team. But, there is longer game to play here. Play the Ravindra card carefully, don't stuff up his career start. His Super Smash record says he doesn't cope well yet with demotion down the order. Where as Nicholls we know already has tough enough skin to deal with 'failure'. He wouldn't be scarred (or incur media or fan pressure/doubts or self doubts) by a string of 5 off 6 balls , or 1(2) etc batting in some impossible situations.

After his first innings golden, and then his second innings inside edge past keeper for his first career runs (I thought it had bowled him, live) I was getting some Wesley Madhevere / Ken Rutherford cold sweats

Yes, yes. The extra batter gives the team more balance on bowler-friendly pitches. CdG and Finn Allen (under-rated off-spin) can bowl an over or two if a main bowler has an off day. And McConchie and Kuggs / Braces at #8 and #9 gives late innings nurdling (rebuilding) or hitting (finishing) options.

Not convinced on Latham and Nicholls batting at #5 and #6. I assume Latham dropped slots yesterday to retain LHB - RHB split, but I think this is too funky. Latham and Nicholls are the most likely to make 50+ against spin so one of them should be at #3.
Totally... I think Latham and Nicholls should be right at the top. Nicholls opening with Allen, Latham coming in at no.3 doesn't matter if there's right left combo. In any case Bangladesh has varied attack. They can change as they like, they have like 7 bowlers in their line up. They can work out the best match ups. Besides I strongly believe Ravindra at no.5 or no.6 would be good for us. From what I have seen he's quite a hitter if needs be. Rest should remain as is but I'm guessing nothing is going to change 8-)

It's a small thing in the scheme of things but if our boys somehow win the next one we will not Sears in this series I suppose? Not sure how many games he'll feature in Pakistan.

BTW Ravindra is not in the T20 squad for Pakistan, he's only playing one day I guess?

I get that but I really think he is one of the big hitters. Just because he looks tidy it doesn't get considered. I have watched him hit some monster sixes in all formats. The problem with him at the top is it gives him absolutely no time to think about his batting if we're bowling first. T20 is a fast game and takes a lot out of the players. To finish the spell, reflect about it and then to immediately go out to bat could be counter productive.

How good was Blundell yesterday? Played a handy knock, fielded well and took a stunner in the field.

The wickets in Pakistan will be a lot more conducive to Sears' bowling than these mud strips.

Yes, in fact the T20 squad for this series is the ODI squad for Pakistan. Clicking as a unit does have a purpose for this lineup beyond this series.

Game 4 tonight... team selection? I wouldn't be surprised if we go the same team as last game. Maybe swap another seamer out for lols.

I'm genuinely anxious about the embarrassment that could ensue for Bangladesh tonight, but I'm hoping typing a post about it on here will have the desired effect on the result.

Think the defeat would have sharpened Bangladesh up. Though I don't feel either side fancies chasing a reasonable score given the opposition attack and the way the surfaces have played.

Bennett was **** in the first 2 games wasn't he? Why on earth would you bring him back when sears is on the bench begging for experience and kuggs is actually bowling well for once.
