***Official*** 4th Test @ The Oval, London - 2nd-6th September

In his admittedly very brief Test career, I don't think I've seen Robinson look as utterly unthreatening at any point as he does this evening.
He's not the quickest at the best of times, so this pitch drying out is helping his cause even less than the others I think.

Did Nasser just say that of all the players in this series, Rohit Sharma's bat looks the widest? Bizarre thing to say unless he's gone to the pub every time Root has batted.

Whatever it takes!!!
Root's backfoot first game was cut open to pieces by Ashwin post that first innings in Chennai. Its such a pity that he is not even given the opportunity to go against him here.

A few streaky edges and Burns' drop/miss aside, that was worryingly comfortable for India in the main. I was expecting a much trickier hour for them.

Very little happening tonight. These might be the best batting conditions all series.

It's ridiculous that you bring along a frontline spinner, probably the best in the world right now and not even give him a game...

Still think Lords Day 3 and Leeds Day 2 were better but the bounce on this pitch can help strokeplay in front of the wicket. So it might be more to India's liking than those two perhaps.

Lol "Rohit looks as good as anyone has this series, maybe with the exception of Joe Root." Maybe? What a statement Nasser.
Amazingly, it was a fractional improvement on his statement minutes earlier...

Need these two to put on 150 and then for the other losers to somehow scrape out another 200 between them. A long and improbable road.

Yeah, this'll be the test for him. Because outside of England, he's going to run into a lot of pitches like these overseas.

At this point I really don’t mind either of the outcomes: if india gets thrashed that would bring Kohli’s abysmal captaincy closer to its inevitable end. And if team wins that’s okay too I guess as a fan.

I don’t normally care about media noise but it’s hard not to imagine Kohli has some personal grudge against Ashwin who is world’s best spinner by a fair margin.
