Need these two to put on 150 and then for the other losers to somehow scrape out another 200 between them. A long and improbable road.
Strangely, I'm somewhat optimistic when I saw Jimmy getting hardly any swing. Just gotta hope that there is no swing tomorrow and India can build some momentum.

Have to say I agree with you, this was the most comfortable our openers have looked even when they made big partnerships early in the series, they were comfortably finding the middle of the bat and defence and hardly beaten. If conditions stay like this then I back us to bat all day and be in a position to win this match

England really missed a trick by not having a larger lead given they're batting last, but it would give India a fair amount of hope that such a spud line up could post nearly 300 when their only batsman made <30. Good to see Woakes getting it done with bat and ball. A good cricketer.

Bit dodgy for India that Kohli sucks a bit in third innings - only averages 34. They'll need a lot more than that from him to set a decent target. They'll want to set 250 plus if they can, but it's a long way away yet.

Still backing them to win it. Hoping Jadeja might actually do something 4th innings with the ball. Unlikely I know, but hope springs eternal.

Well if/once they break the opening partnership, we have 3 walking wickets right after so 4 quick wickets in the morning is a very realistic scenario…

Can’t believe you’re supporting India. Shattered by this I am.
Ashes year. Very important England stinks it up. Promising signs with hopefully Bairstow. Woakes and Ali doing enough to get picked for the tour here.

Fully expect us to follow the precedent of the 2003 WC and not visit a country that’s being ran by dictators tbf

We’re not too thrilled at the prospect of your diseased lot bringing over the latest variant of the plague either.

England must be quite scared now. We’re only 60 behind and unless clouds come out tomorrow we’ll put on plenty of runs.

The Wheel is Forever
The more I think about it, the more I think this is the worst selection in recent Indian cricket history - at least since I started following in the mid to late nineties.
I can’t honestly think of another instance that was worse.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, I love Jaddu as much as the next guy but if he is not making runs and picking up wickets, there is not much Virat can do to keep justifying benching the best spinner in the world.

Ideally both will play. But then again, Umesh and Shardul have had key interventions this game so far, its all a bit here and there. We have a lot of similar players but the balance issues means there is no smoking gun best XI for us and sometimes its not the best thing.
