Without writing an essay about Warne’s comments about the 2005 Ashes. If KP got a duck at the oval in the second innings he would have averaged 35 for the series - not 25 like Warne has just claimed along with “people would have questioned him at test level”. Nope because 35, not 25 - would have have stayed in the side I’m sure - Bell only averaged 17.1 in that series from 5 tests and Vaughan 32.6 (Collingwood 8.5 in one test). He didn’t get a duck anyway, 158 - drops happen, Kohli got dropped a few overs back - that’s cricket. Some casuals are going to take Warne’s word for that - not that I necessarily care. I like Warne, but he did get carried away. Gilchrist’s chance wasn’t easy like he claimed, yes he should have really taken his straightforward chance but sometimes the best fielders drop with no pressure at all - let alone enormous series and historical ashes pressure. That fact Warne was so immense individually in that series and still dropped in that situation is just one of those things.
