***Official*** 4th Test @ The Oval, London - 2nd-6th September

International Captain
What's he saying?
Basically how Woakes is so much superior than Curran (he is) and how players like Curran i.e. bits-and-pieces don't deserve to be Test cricketers. Was a putdown the way he said it though, similar to how he ran down Jadeja not so long ago.

I'd like to hear the trumpeter play something a little more challenging. Something from the Chet Baker canon, or perhaps Miles Davis. Just to keep things fresh.

England are going to rue dropping Kohli - was a weird chance though right in the middle of the two and swung. Burns being a new addition to the slip cordon probably felt he should leave that, I can understand it and he didn’t put Root off in any way. Still ended up being tough for Root all things considered I think, he had to contend with the fact Bairstow took a blinder last game at second and has been getting used to having him at 2nd - Kohli is very lucky though.

Need to try to get him out fast. Promoting Jadeja was ridiculous though imo

Pommy bowling starting to look ragged af, like they've been bowling in the sun for four and a half sessions.

All I’m going to say is
He’s played 5 tests in 2020. 5 so far in 2021. In those 10 tests he’s taken 15 wickets @ 47.53 and averaged 17.08 with the bat. His series stats are dismal.

I think he would be lucky to ever play another test. He’s had a long run and averages 24 with the bat and under 2wpm with the bat. England have Stokes, Woakes, Ali as all round options and Robinson and Overton can both bat with other options to return like Archer and Broad. Good thing for Curran is he has LO to fall back on - particularly t20.

Need to try to be respectful about it though - didn’t hear what he said.

Scoreline still isn't flash by any stretch, but the Indian dismissals today have been far more down to the bowling than some of the dross they dished up last test. Sharma copped one which stood up, Pujara and Jadeja both had to play theirs, and Rahul was beaten on the inside edge by late movement and was a bit unlucky not to get the benefit on outside the line. I actually get the impression KL is still in really good nick tbh. Just pissed it away last match, then copped a good 'un today.

Bruv, he's 23...
It's a bit of a meh skill set though imo. I mean, if he had some pace or height about him you'd think he could potentially add a bit as a bowling all rounder if they wanted to play two spinners, but I don't know if his batting is really up to that anyway, based on what I've seen of him this series so far anyway.

Urrghh just saw it's nearly midnight and I'm still here doing some work. **** this ****. Time gets away.

Agree his batting needs to be much better to be a regular but I do think the potential is there. He needs to play some FC batting at 5 or something. His future was always as a batting allrounder.
