i think bumble is harsh on overton but overton's problem, despite being a solid bowler in england at least, is robinson is a way better version of him.

Pant isnt going to be playing the kind of innings here that he played in Australia but he's genuinely looked better than the three numpties in the middle order even though his game clearly isnt suited at all for the conditions.

probably our respective cricket upbringings. he does a lot i instinctively think is suicidal in pace bowling lands. he waves at everything outside off, follows the ball on defence and plays way too square with the 45 degree bat, and shots off his legs are often aerial.

kohli, rohit and rahane being wide defenders is understandable since they didn't grow up in england or wherever, and a lot of what they're looking to do is sensible. pant just isn't set up for tours where the ball moves. it's getting to the point where he should shelve the offside shots and make england bowl at him to get himself in before going supreme meme.
