Stumped!

I’m never joining a league like that ever again…every single team, barring yours and mine, is like over 60K us in rating.

I have made a default lineup and according to the conditions, drop or play the extra pacer.
I know what u mean but fair play to anyone who gets a friendly comp going - i guess these were all regulars so we were kinda lucky to get to play with their ball anyway - and we are rather like the 10 year olds who get put into bat in the village x1 when someones car broke down!

It gives me a nice taste of defeat on a regular basis to balance the BOT bashing - ideally someone might make a friendly for teams with a max of x or only so many of y - u would be the ideal chap:thumbup: for the job!

I got them bad...108/7 in the 16th over. Pressure!
Sadly, that turned into 167/8.

Close encounter thus far, hosting the Astronauts at the Basin. Gary Cricket (36 off 48) and Alex Davey (56 off 76) laid a good platform, and Eachann Evans (55 off 65) capitalised on it. The lower middle-order couldn't convert their starts, and Ashgrove ended up at 250 all out thanks to a strong 9th-wicket partnership. On a damp pitch the spinners did most of the work, hauling in 7 wickets. Part-time finger-spinner Michael Winton haxxed his way to get wickets in consecutive balls. Busy day for keeper/captain Shaffrey, dropping 3 catches and holding 5. The Ashgrove Astronauts enter the dressing room as favourites to retain their winning streak.

What a win for the boys! At 104-5 with the asking rate closing again on 7, it looked like yet another miserable failure. But the shuffled batting order meant Shaffrey was batting with Murdoch, rather than a defensively-minded Dev player. This resulted in an outstanding partnership of 98 (80), balancing out an earlier defensive Dev partnership of 51 (91). Still, when Shaffrey went for 52 (58), there were still nigh 50 runs for Murdoch and the tail to get. At 232-8, target 251, it looked painstakingly close. But Ludlow did his annoying magic from #10, hitting 11* (8) to secure a win. Kurt Murdoch's 76* (64) showed his blossoming into a senior batsman exquisitely. After a torrid time recently Shaffrey's fifty, 5-for of catches, and captaining the side to a close win redeemed his bad run. So even with du Preez and Clift failing, I managed to chase down a big target against the superior team of @Marcuss. :)

So I have a conundrum. I don't know whether to sell/get rid of Katz and/or Farhat from my squad.

They are both developed a bit (some of my better batsmen in an inexperienced squad) but due to their age and underlying skill potential I don't know whether to keep them or not. If I leave Farhat in my squad its not really an issue, but he will never reach potential that I think he deserves because he just won't get the game time. Katz is a bit of an issue in my squad because he has the crowd pleaser trait which is nice but forces me to play him sometimes when I would rather play somebody else (can definitely see an effect on attendance!) and this is a money management game.

So I`m just looking for some additional opinions!

I think with all the batting talent you have coming through I can't see Katz keeping his place as a first XI player long term, which makes keeping him difficult. Also as an aggressive hitter he will be more suited to T20 where gates are lower.

GG CC 190/4 chasing 260 vs FHK with 17 overs to go. Massive upset looming here. Nathan Law with another phenomenal century, but the bowlers have gone missing. Lam and Wong with average bowling quality of 8, but unfortunately their economy rates are just as high. De Villiers and Sutherland looking dangerous.

Thanks. Katz has been put on sale.

Wong and Shum trigger a collapse, GG CC fall 36 runs short. Hard luck SCC1.

Jura CC played their first ever game against ZCC today too. We went in full strength and bowled them out for just 95. Will be putting out a weaker XI for the rematch!

Ouch I don't know what was more painful ...being bowled out for 95 or condemned to the dreaded ' putting out a weaker side' !!:surrender

I've actually got a game vs Morpork on the same day, so will be putting out two separate XIs again. Should make for two very competitive games.

Moooo are playing a friendly dev match against Dynamo Schmaltzberg today...ideally, we wanted to bat first, but have to contend with bowling first...and it's been a quiet start for Schmaltzberg, 16/0 after 7 overs.

Good for the old rankings at least.

I thought 160 was way too little for Schmaltzberg but they've started strongly in the field...worried about this partnership though. Hopefully Payne can break it and then it'll be a nailbiter chase.

Morpork didn't really kick off after 200/2 against Stephen's librarian apes. Can't fault Rowan and Kotze though, very solid knocks after early inroads
