Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Sheldon Cotterell, Chris Jordan, et al., are way much better than (Sir) Jimmy Anderson.
Jordan is an all rounder. “Way much better” getting very emotional mate.
No. The other 3 haven’t been better fielders - you can’t expect a 39 year old to be peaking in the field…that’s dumb asf. For many years he was electric in the field behind only Collingwood who is England’s greatest ever fielder

Southee and Boult are 100% better than Anderson ever was in the field

Anderson is a good outfielder and a good slip catcher too. For many years he was first choice at slip off the spinners. Not sure you could say that of Southee or Boult.

Southee probably is better than Anderson. But its hard to say Boult is better than Anderson IMO. Its also hard to compare as Boult's best is usually more useful in LO cricket.

Southee is an excellent slip fielder. Boult is just a weird spastic crazy athlete who is definitely a better fielder too.
Think it was at this point in time so you could probably make a case for a few of those guys if you wanted to.

The unspoken truth is that Boult has been a couple of rungs below his best for 2 seasons now, and could feasibly be replaced, or at least when we need to play a spinner he's the most vulnerable to being dropped.

Lol, I should have clarified. That post was about their fielding though I guess it kinda works out about their current bowling form as well.

What I meant by it being more useful in the LO side. I think slip catching is so much more valuable in tests and Anderson is better there.
Its probable I missed the mark here in my assessment
