Good for the boys to get a win, would be nice if this was replicated in league cricket tho!

Will look to rest a few players for the next match @ataraxia.

Today's CWC3 games should be fun:

Morpork vs Jura CC in a clash of the two unbeaten, top of the table sides. Morpork should come into this with the ratings advantage, and are playing on home turf, so my money is on them ending today as undisputed 1st place on the table.

FHK will look to consolidate 3rd place when they come up against bottom-ranked Ashgrove Astronauts, but their patchy recent form and notably frail batting lineup leaves them ripe for an upset. Marcuss has set the pitch to be slow with some moisture in it for the quicks, which will neutralize FHK's biggest strength - their spinners. I still expect FHK to have enough quality in the side to come out with the win, but this has potential to be the upset of the round.

ZCC have begun to recover after a shaky start, and are now 4th in the table, with a settled looking playing XI that seems to enjoy playing on home turf. Schmaltzberg have only one win in the CWC3 so far, and will face a stiff challenge over at the Dom Dom Memorial CG. Expect a comfortable win for the hosts.

It's 5th vs 6th when ataraXIa take on Winton CC. This could be a great game to watch. WCC are starting to hit their stride after a period of rebuilding, and were dominant at home when these two sides faced off in a T20F earlier this week. The Basin Reserve is showing a lot of wear, so expect this to be a hard fought, low-scoring encounter. Hard to pick a winner, I'll go with ataraXIa making the most of their home advantage.

And over at The Merry Arboreal CG, GG CC will be looking to break into the Top 6 with a win over TMO, who themselves will be fighting to stay off the bottom of the table. A lot of good young talent will be on display in this matchup, but expect GG CC to triumph comfortably.

And last but not least, two enigmatic and loveable sides will face off at Moooo CG. The Hunks have the knack of occasionally winning games even though their manager doesn't do much, while Moooo seem to enter every match they play as the underdogs. Both teams currently sit on 9 points in CWC3, separated by NRR, so it should be a close match up. My guess is for home-turf advantage to prove decisive for the young calves.
Morpork vs Jura On paper this is Morpork's game. To overturn I will need my top 3 to stay in and put runs on the board because the middle and lower order are inferior to the Porkies. IF we can post a total then my bowlers may have a shot as (again on paper) they are equal to the Porkers - .....so the 0 wicket column after 10 overs would be most welcome from my guys (famous last words)!

GG CC are flying, Moo and Jura CC looking solid. Slow but steady starts for FHK and ataraXIa, and ZCC have a healthy run-rate but have lost both Grubs and Ahsan for ducks - relying heavily on Garner to get us to a decent score.

Are you confusing him with some other Umesh? :p
I'm not sure but 15 from 11 meant he trudged back to the pavilion with just stony stares and mutterings again- will be uo To Ozzy Hobbs to hold this innings together now with a docile tail!

I hoped for 240 to be competitive - was on if Umesh played the game he should be capable of - will need someone to steup up now and restrict the early runs and nip a couple out to get us on par

Brilliant century by Stuart Garner to take us to 219. Early contender for innings of the round. Jura CC end on 219 as well, which means both Dynamo teams need 220 to win their games. GG CC pile on a massive score vs TMO and nip out an early wicket, ataraXIa a relatively massive score given the conditions and 2 early wickets, and Moooo utterly tearing the Hunks apart after posting the lowest first-innings score of the round. Agnes Chow top scores with 75 for FHK, who have 186 to defend against the Astronauts.

Morpork and Astronauts both looking strong in their chases so far. Schmaltzberg in a similar situation to ZCC at this point of the innings - who will step up and be their Garner? TMO are fighting but you have to think the chase is beyond them now, while Hunks and WCC chases are in disarray.

Fun day of games.

Dominant win by the Astronauts. 186 felt like enough, but as expected the spinners didn't click and our seam attack wasn't potent enough to get the breakthroughs either. Skipper Peach with a brilliant captain's knock of 55*. We really should have scored more runs, but Chung and Law fell cheaply and Agnes is not exactly a quick run scorer. Classic example of a better assembled team outdoing a higher rated one. Congrats @Marcuss! FHK's difficult season continues. We'll be hunting for revenge tomorrow!
Prediction Result: Wrong, but I did say an upset was possible.

In brighter news, Schmaltzberg are bowled out for 150. Our spinners ended up with 6 wickets in seamer friendly conditions - the seamers built up the pressure, and when it came time for the release the Dynamos just didn't execute well enough. Good win, the team is shaping up nicely.
Prediction Result: Correct

Moooo and ataraXIa both pick up comfortable wins in a very similar manner. Visiting sides choose to field first, home side get a decent score on the board and then take a bunch of early wickets to all but seal the game. Good effort by both chasing teams in the end, but it was always going to be tough to win after the terrible starts they had.
Prediction Results: Both Correct.

A spirited chase from TMO comes to an end. They fall short of GG CC's massive 270 by just 34 runs. They had 17 balls left as well, which suggests that if someone had stuck around a bit longer they might have pulled it of. Of course taking those 1st innings catches would have helped too.
Prediction Result: Correct

And last but not least - Morpork topple Jura CC! A real professional all-rounder performance sees the senior Dynamos team remain the only unbeaten side in the CWC so far. Excellent effort, great game.
Prediction Results: Correct

This weeks results leads to a lot of competition towards the mid-lower end of the table. Only 4 points separates 6th place from 10th! ataraXIa have broken into the top half of the table, and are now comfortably placed in 5th place. ZCC in 4th are closing the gap in on FHK, who have remained 3rd despite today's defeat. Dynamo Morpork the only unbeaten team left.

Innings of the Round goes to Stuart Garner of ZCC. Am I biased? Definitely. But also he hit the only century of the round, coming in 41/3 to take us to a match-winning 219. Excellent knock. Honorable mentions to Lachlan Peach (AA) and Alonso Kock (TMO)

Spell of the Round goes to Martijn Van Heerdens of DM, who used the dry home track to good effect to dismiss 4 to JCC's top 6. His regular wickets were key to keeping them down to a chasable score. Honorable mentioned to Fred Clarke from the same innings, and Gulsan Giridhar (Moooo).
