Thumping win for ZCC over Sun Warriors, handing them their first SOD League loss of the season so far. Bowled them out for 135, wickets shared all around, and got there with 6 wickets and nearly 20 overs to spare. Nice bonus point and NRR boost, moves us into 4th place.

FHK batting first vs Vrystaat Knegte, away from home but in conditions that are more or less identical to 5DNOL stadium. Currently 40/1 in 10 overs. Need to get at least 200 on the board and bowl well. Full strength side with decent fitness levels, rating 56.6k to their 58k.

Got that rarest of hen's teeth...a one-wicket win!

My middle order made a joke of the chase of 188 - once their tail clearer took out both Marita and Waters in the same over the experienced batsmen never recovered - and with 11 overs left we needed 40 to win and only the bowlers in. Frans Bronkhorst hit an unprecented 18 and then Artemis Fox made a crucial contribution with a 6 that was really a ten, getting some leg byes past the keeper. Incredible scenes and a fortunate escape for Morpork, keeping us in the hunt for promotion - two points behind league leaders Leggs Eleven who we play next week.

Schmaltzberg played another affiliate, who put up a bot-like lineup and got hammered.

Moooo with a clinical win over the tabletoppers( at the time of our match), Corellians.

They won the toss and elected to bat on a belter of a wicket. Vethanayagam started with two maidens and then the wickets kept falling at the other end. Everyone got into the act and before you know it the Corellians were bowled out for 85 in the last over of their innings.
Veenstra leading the charge with 4/15 (7.2), the wrist spin of Zahid and Jawad picked up two wickets each, while the other leggie Nazar with one. Yeah, Mooo went with their 3 leg spinners @slippy888.

Moooo started off oh so well, Nazar and Bart way added 67 for the first wicket in 10.3 overs (Nazar only made 16), and the Tipping went 2 runs later with the score on 69 (nice ?). Then came the debutant and new acquisition for Mooo, Michael Brierley, who stuck around with Way until the end…Way crossed his 50 in the process.

A good win for Mooo.

And FHK go down again. What has got into LOY recently
Touch 7. Not bowling as well as he should.

Team's too young and raw for Div 2 cricket as well tbh. Hopefully things turn around.

FHK playing AtaraXIa now at home. Bowling first, going alright, playing full strength hoping for a confidence boosting win.

Is there a way to view historical ratings?
Off the top of my head, checking this page in the leagues you compete in is easiest. Can see it for past seasons as well

For non-members, look at expert preview for past games (e.g. here's one)

7 FHK wickets remained as they chase the target down easily. It's too hard for me to combat Lester & Lai on a dry wicket (I did fluke it once), so next fixture vs FHK will be a home T20.

Good for the boys to get a win, would be nice if this was replicated in league cricket tho!

Will look to rest a few players for the next match @ataraxia.

Today's CWC3 games should be fun:

Morpork vs Jura CC in a clash of the two unbeaten, top of the table sides. Morpork should come into this with the ratings advantage, and are playing on home turf, so my money is on them ending today as undisputed 1st place on the table.

FHK will look to consolidate 3rd place when they come up against bottom-ranked Ashgrove Astronauts, but their patchy recent form and notably frail batting lineup leaves them ripe for an upset. Marcuss has set the pitch to be slow with some moisture in it for the quicks, which will neutralize FHK's biggest strength - their spinners. I still expect FHK to have enough quality in the side to come out with the win, but this has potential to be the upset of the round.

ZCC have begun to recover after a shaky start, and are now 4th in the table, with a settled looking playing XI that seems to enjoy playing on home turf. Schmaltzberg have only one win in the CWC3 so far, and will face a stiff challenge over at the Dom Dom Memorial CG. Expect a comfortable win for the hosts.

It's 5th vs 6th when ataraXIa take on Winton CC. This could be a great game to watch. WCC are starting to hit their stride after a period of rebuilding, and were dominant at home when these two sides faced off in a T20F earlier this week. The Basin Reserve is showing a lot of wear, so expect this to be a hard fought, low-scoring encounter. Hard to pick a winner, I'll go with ataraXIa making the most of their home advantage.

And over at The Merry Arboreal CG, GG CC will be looking to break into the Top 6 with a win over TMO, who themselves will be fighting to stay off the bottom of the table. A lot of good young talent will be on display in this matchup, but expect GG CC to triumph comfortably.

And last but not least, two enigmatic and loveable sides will face off at Moooo CG. The Hunks have the knack of occasionally winning games even though their manager doesn't do much, while Moooo seem to enter every match they play as the underdogs. Both teams currently sit on 9 points in CWC3, separated by NRR, so it should be a close match up. My guess is for home-turf advantage to prove decisive for the young calves.

My groundsmen setting a WCC home pitch doesn't exactly bode well, but it shall be very interesting.

Nazar goes for a diamond duck. Early breakthrough for HH
Former Dynamo Maurits Grobbelaar gets a 6-ball duck vs Schmaltzberg as well! Huge wicket to lose for ZCC, one of our best batters.

Fun fact: Schmaltzberg emerged as winners the only time these two teams faced each other in Dev cricket. It is also their only win in 7 matches vs ZCC. Ominous signs.
