ZCC played GG CC for the first time ever today. A 50 over game at the GG CC CG (host of the upcoming recently concluded T20I Final!).

This was scheduled as Naseer Rashid's final game for ZCC before he starts work as a coach, and he scored his 3rd fifty in as many innings. He hit 67 off 61 opening the batting, and laid the platform for our eventual score of 265/8. 18 YO Keeper/batsman Jamal Madani scored 45 opening with him, but took 119 balls to do so. Maurits 'Grubs' Grobbelaar hit a nice 60 in at 3, off just 55 balls, keeping our RR up and then cameos throughout the middle took us to a par score on a flat pitch.

Skipper Earnest Levy nicked behind in the 3rd over, but Bram Human and Jayraj D Souza batted excellently to take the hosts to 76/1 in the 16th over. But that's when Jayraj was dismissed Hit Wicket by medium pacer Hashim Zahid...

15.4WHashim Zahid to Jayraj D souza103.8 kphGOT HIM! Ball in the channel, D souza goes after it. That clatters off the pads, chance for leg-byes. He probably shouldn't laugh, but Human can't help it, D souza lost his balance, tried to avoid the stumps and ended up falling onto them. I have to agree, it was very funny and very out.

From here they wobbled to 135/4. Bram Human was going strong but just needed a partner. Theron stuck around for a 47-run partnership, and just when it looked like GG CC might be able to put the young ZCC bowling attack under some pressure, they lost Bram Human for 88. This triggered an all-mighty, Mooo-esque collapse from 182/5 to 190 a/o. Sampath Ramalingam and Arif Jalal both took 2 wickets in consecutive balls during this collapse, but neither managed the hattrick.

Really good game for the most part though! ZCC rated 47k to GG CC's 40k. Lots of good performances from the team, and got to send Naseer Rashid off into his coaching career in a fine way :)

@cnerd123 @Magrat Garlick How much does experience effect performance and rating? Does it only have an effect based on game pressure or does it effect performance directly?
I think it's both, though I've found it hard to predict anything specific from it - except possibly that the "unlucky" dismissals seem to happen a bit more often to inexperienced batsmen, say.

Generally XP is quite important and if I had built up the resources for a big title run I would probably try to have 5-6 players with 16+ XP in the starting lineup
