Most successful sports people, successful people even, are assholes. There is a strong correlation.

No ball gate was his brain child. Randiv put it in to practice. ICC, SLC, BCCI and every acronym pounced on Randiv because he was the easy target. Sanga was an unthinkable target even for a predator like BCCI.I rate him higher than you but I agree with you on him obviously being an asshole. People not from the SC generally don't pick up on this and there's was this ridiculous idea that he is one of the nicest people in cricket. In the commentary for the WTC final, he was talking about how cricket is ultimately just an opportunity to become a better person, the importance of helping other people, the importance of balance in life etc and it was aggravating coming from Sangakkara.
Man, first SL fan I've seen admit this. It was obvious at the time.No ball gate was his brain child. Randiv put it in to practice. ICC, SLC, BCCI and every acronym pounced on Randiv because he was the easy target. Sanga was an unthinkable target even for a predator like BCCI.
Now Randiv at 35 years (supposed to be the prime of a spinner) drives buses in Melbourne.
It doesn't mean the act was illegal. It was against the spirit, but who cares about the damn spirit?Man, first SL fan I've seen admit this. It was obvious at the time.
Must be coz India was losing and he wanted to ride the "winning and losing" does not matter trainI rate him higher than you but I agree with you on him obviously being an asshole. I think Sanga successfully working a 'nicest guy in cricket' gimmick just adds to his legacy as an atg heel. World class batsman and troll, you gotta love the guy.I rate him higher than you but I agree with you on him obviously being an asshole. It kinda did in how hilariously petty it was but not owning up to it and putting all the blame on randiv was a weak move. That deliberate no ball owned actually.
I loved the fact that Sehwag was supposed to be the guy who supposedly didn't care about the game situation but then got sad when he was denied a ton.It kinda did in how hilariously petty it was but not owning up to it and putting all the blame on randiv was a weak move.
Technically his 100 was not a game situation though. More of a personal situation. ?I loved the fact that Sehwag was supposed to be the guy who supposedly didn't care about the game situation but then got sad when he was denied a ton.
Nah ****, sehwag was the "get to a hundred with a six or die trying" guy. That was why he was pissed because he'd smashed it for six.I loved the fact that Sehwag was supposed to be the guy who supposedly didn't care about the game situation but then got sad when he was denied a ton.
Actually he and Dilshan owned up to it. But SLC was **** scared of those two and BCCI was very much concerned with their utility in the IPL (both were stars, Dilshan was a mega star), and turned a blind eye on them, and even a slap on the wrist was not served in the menu.It kinda did in how hilariously petty it was but not owning up to it and putting all the blame on randiv was a weak move.
Yeah, the whinging from the Indian fans and the team was at another level on such an uniumportant milestone to a "team player"I loved the fact that Sehwag was supposed to be the guy who supposedly didn't care about the game situation but then got sad when he was denied a ton.
He was never forgiven for his 2003 WC misses against Aussies. First he missed stumping of Symonds. Then in Semi final, he ran out Aravinda. Sl would have won in a cakewalk if the that stumping was taken, and India might have ended up s WC winners. The semi was a difficult chase, but no way beyond Aravinda, who has regained form during the WC.Is Sanga genuinely disliked in the cricket community? Iffy keeper and overrated batsman for sure, but I didn't know he was unpopular.
This one is an Indian urban myth. Also, Sangakkara cheated at the toss in the WC final after shastri ****ed things up ffs. Much worse than the no ball. If we had lost, SL's bus wouldve been shot at in India as well.
Too soon?
You are an anomaly among them. Most successful sports people, successful people even, are assholes. There is a strong correlation.

I don't think a guy who walks when nicks would take such a huge risk on his reputation. Is there in proof to justify this? Also, Sangakkara cheated at the toss in the WC final after shastri ****ed things up ffs. Much worse than the no ball.
