and the only other striker in the squad isn't on the bench. Bizarre.kane continuing his best impression of an actual ghost at this tournament
Five subs changes that sort of thing a lot tbf. We saw that yesterday, can turn a game into a total unstructured mess which surely is better for England. This has been a better game than I anticipated, and England have done better than I thought they would to. But I imagine Germany's technical prowess will begin to tell when England invariably tire out and Goretzka and Kroos get more time on the ball.
Phillips' and Rice's yellow cards won't help either. Southgate will need to get his substitutions spot on.This has been a better game than I anticipated, and England have done better than I thought they would to. Don't really agree with that. A mess means more space for Germany.Five subs changes that sort of thing a lot tbf. We saw that yesterday, can turn a game into a total unstructured mess which surely is better for England.
Yeah true. But the subs things cuts both ways. I kind of suspect England getting a result is contingent of them scoring first though. Wouldn't fancy them at all if they concede first.Five subs changes that sort of thing a lot tbf. I wouldn't mind Henderson coming on for Rice if Southgate insists on the formation for much longer.Phillips' and Rice's yellow cards won't help either. Southgate will need to get his substitutions spot on.
Eh, I feel that England's attacking talent is held back a lot more by their system than Germany's. More space for Germany, sure, but also more space for Sterling, Foden etc etcDon't really agree with that. A mess means more space for Germany.
sure but there is an element of "scoring goals is better than not scoring goals hashtag analysis" when you go down that routeYeah true. But the subs things cuts both ways. Haha not really, England have set up in such a way that chasing the game against a much more technically proficient German team would be a massively tall order. Playing on the counter whilst England get more and more open as they desperately seek an equaliser would suit Germany perfectly.Eh, I feel that England's attacking talent is held back a lot more by their system than Germany's. Yeah. I was thinking how much we'd benefit from Modric playing at the base of our midfield.England missing quality on the ball in possession. Rice and Philips are not worrying Germany when they get the ball.
So would basically every team tbfYeah. I was thinking how much we'd benefit from Modric playing at the base of our midfield.
