A bit late to the party but massive congrats to NZ and their fans! Can honestly say I don't think I've ever been so excited or happy over a cricket result that doesn't involve Eng before.

Timeless test? Can not believe that people are actually advocating for this......horrendous idea and I would literally hate to see it implemented. No problem with unlimited reserve days to ensure 450 overs though.

There is a fundamental difference that I'm not sure John gets.

A timeless test is an entirely different format which would involve entirely different tactics. You can't play a championship in one format and then have the final in a different one. It makes as much sense as playing a ODI for the final to ensure there is a result. Rubbish idea.

Timeless test cricket is real test cricket. You will get there eventually.

Not Terrible
Timeless Test cricket is a ridiculous dream. These are grounds being booked out to other functions. These are TV teams being shipped around the world. Fans want to book tickets in advance.

It's just financially not an option.

A 6th day? Feasible. But 4 days of rain will never mean they plan on day 9.it just isn't realistic.

Ok. If they don’t want to do it I will do it in women’s cricket. England vs India and the venue can be in a random field for all I care with no spectators but it will be televised.

Don't be a knob ffs.

I like most people here value test cricket above all else so stick your sanctimonious tone. To say timeless tests is real test cricket is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard on here. Apart from the logistics that Athers has pointed out the players have never even played the format and you want them to start in the most important fixture on the calender?? Have a spell.

No it won't, because TV wants the certainty of the amount of days that will run. If their equipment is still out there, their staff out there after 10 days because it pissed down for a week and in between times everyone blocked the crap out of it, that's not good business.

I will stream it myself if necessary.

Whatever it takes!!!
Kohli revolution when

(never, duh)
Surely, they can get umpires and scorers and stuff make the intra squad games actual FC games, right? I understand why they would rather play a county side or an England A side or even an India A side who have been playing England A upto that point but I think there is enough quality in that squad to have two really tough and strong FC level 4 day games before the tests.

Level of intensity would be good with spots up for grabs but still relatively low in an intra squad game vs a match against a county side

Facing bowlers in the middle who you have faced in the nets ten million times is too easy and not a challenge. IMHO
