Would be nice if we could just pick up a few more singles here. Batting is tough, they're not giving away any four balls, but if we can just rotate the strike a bit that eases the pressure a lot.

The commentators are overstating having to bowl full in England. Yes when you are able to swing the ball you got to bowl fuller but if you're a bowler that hits the deck hard then you can't just pitch it to and get smashed.

Imagine telling McGrath to pitch it up. He didn't swing and bowled a bit back but moved off the seam ever so slightly. He was a master of making the batters play at most balls. Top of the off pretty much. The best I've seen that was effective in all conditions. Kept it real simple. Mostly bowled away but got one to come in from the same spot. Used the angles real well.

Wonder what Aussies like to see out of this game? Anzac spirit alive and like to see kiwis win or rather see India win and claim Aussies weren't that bad to lose to Indians at home?
i was really just hoping to see some more international cricket after a few months without it then getting a little entree with the Eng-NZ series, especially the first session most days on prime time here. Not being overly invested means it’s easy to head to bed at the lunch break. Don’t watch the ipl as the time zone doesn’t work for me and it’s a nothing burger imo. So this was meant to be it.

Will be interesting to see if India use spin here, Taylor has a bit of history getting out to left arm spinners but conditions are so much in favour of pace here. Could also be an opportunity for our batsmen to attack, which could in turn create chances.

Kane is looking a bit frustrated today, very unlike him. He generally enjoys these sort of contests
Not in the greatest of nick, don’t normally see this sort of scoring rate from him even in the most difficult conditions. Bowlers are clearly putting a lot of planning in place for him now.

Yeah, with hardly any runs coming off the pacers they probably won’t want to just play out the spin duo. Won’t say they’ve dug themselves into a hole just yet, but they’ll have to start thinking about scoring as well. Puts Conway’s innings into perspective thus far.

He bowled about a foot fuller in England than he did here.
I remember vividly like yesterday his spell in the ashes when he got to 500 wickets. Will try to look for a video, clearly remember him moving it ever slow slightly and most batters unable to get forward or back, that good was his length. Neither full, neither short. Proper good length with subtle movement both sides of the wicket. Absolute masterclass and he wasn't even quick by then.

That first hour has killed any chance of India making a come back.

India will go well vs England. This is like a warm up game for them
