Don't worry. The summer solstice is over now. Stonehenge has been evacuated, so it'll be sunny for the rest of this week when the early morning clouds have blown away.

Think realistically India winning is going to be tough. They're only 100 ahead with 8 wickets in hand. They can't enforce a follow-on. Barring a monster bowling performance they'll likely have a significant deficit going into the 3rd innings. And 18 wickets have to fall for India to win.

If New Zealand get a 150+ lead they're in a very good position. Less than that it's probably a draw barring a big collapse.

I doubt in conditions like this NZ would be able to get to a 150+ lead in quick enough time unless CdG or someone has one of those days when everything evades the fielders. Though I suppose that’s the best bet - bat till you get that sort of a lead and try to inflict a second innings collapse.

And if India get through NZ cheaply, remains to be seen if they’ll then take the brave approach of trying to set NZ a tricky final day target (though they have the players to make that happen). Still, never doubt test cricket’s capacity to surprise.

India won't win. I can say that for sure. Either we will or a draw looming. There's more chances of us winning. We've done it at home in under 4 days so there's more chance of that.

If India does from this position I'll be more than glad to place them in the same level as the West Indies of 80s and Aussies of 2000s.

If they win this one they'll be champions for a long time to come.

Chances of that happening likely 1% but miracles do happen. If it does then good for them.

I also don't understand why Australians are posting in this thread.
Probably for the same reason Kiwis post in discussions about WC winning teams and players.

Though tbf, I've been on this site since 2006 and have the second most posts in it's history, but I wouldn't know who 3/4 of the Kiwi posters in this thread are, which is probably a mercy for them and me. Maybe they do sort of tend to stick to NZ-related areas which no one else is interested in, much like NZ does wrt the rest of the world in general.

India definitely have a position to win, but they need to get a move on because ideally they want 3 days not 2. Bowl us out first hour, bat strong and then skittle us again for not many.

Whatever it takes!!!
This is a very, very big ask.
He is gambhiring, lol. If we lose anything more than an hour today, I dont see any result other than the draw. They may as well shake hands and share the mace today and play a T20 game or something tomorrow for the crowds.

It will be okay if they start soon if overs won't be lost. The ball will be wet and harder for the bowlers to grip although the outfield will be slow

Hate to be that guy, but can't see how that's possible. We've already lost another 30 mins and once the drizzle does decide to stop, we'll likely have to wait another 30 mins for them to get everything ready. Then at the other end of the day it will be likely impacted by light.

From cricinfo....11.05am: Right, action stations, people! Here's Naga: "Okay, good news, umpires walking out for inspection. Covers on the bowlers run-up being taken off. Rain has stopped. Side covers being rolled in, too."

Wonder what Aussies like to see out of this game? Anzac spirit alive and like to see kiwis win or rather see India win and claim Aussies weren't that bad to lose to Indians at home?
