Just watched the short highlights. I haven't seen too many innings with more dismissals by ill-disciplined wafts that the West Indies'. Awful stuff.

For a while now, the batting let's themselves get bogged down by just trying to survive rather than play a few shots and keep the scoreboard ticking over, then when the inevitable collapse starts they panic.

Does Pooran and Lewis for that matter really want to play the longer format?

Reckon blooding quicks on potential and batsmen on potential are two completely different stories though. Often with quicks you pretty much always know if they have it or not, whereas batsmen need time to learn how to build innings and batting craft.

Agreed! But I do think they need to spell that out a bit as without that nuance it seems extremely inconsistent.

Ball hasn't stopped moving all game and keeping low now as well. Be an achievement if the Windies score more than they did first innings. de Kock getting 100 on this surface is some effort.

This is some incredibly high quality fast bowling on a responsive pitch. Not too much shame in this for the Windies in my view.

Turned it on in time to see Ngidi bowling some hand grenades and see a catch dropped. It's also good to see a match where the outfield isn't like a pool table for once. Make the bastards run for their runs.
