even though his options are limited, i like the way latham rotates his bowlers. he did this in aus too with a similar hospital pass situation.

he gave 3 bowlers a go with the new rock, never let england see someone for too long, always has a plan or bowler up his sleeve and remembers what a spinner is.

yesssss henry henry the original peoples bowler was henry

that ball gets blocked in nz haha henrys fullest balls are kinda floaty, but in england that's not the end of the world.

if crawley can't score here it should probably be curtains for a bit.
Think it's time for him to hit the pine for a while, yeah. Has barely scored a run since his magnum opus versus Pakistan last year.

Does leave Silverwood with a vacancy at the ticklish #3 spot though. Stokes is arguably the best qualified to do it, but would be increasing the great man's responsibility somewhat.

i don't know enough about the county options to speculate, but of players i know, pope had the game for it. lacks experience though.

Not convinced Stokes is good enough to bat above 5 in England. Don’t think Bairstow is either. There is a case for bringing in Hameed and try him at 3 I guess considering his form not exactly many options

Don't think I'd want Stokes at 3 in English conditions. I do think of him as a bit of a shaky starter for a batsman of his overall quality (tbf probably not worse than Crawley is right now) so I wouldn't be keen on magnifying that by exposing him to the new ball more often.

I guess the same argument would apply to anyone we'd attempt to shoehorn in (although I guess a potential pick like Hameed (or did I dream him being in the squad?) is a more natural top-order player, but I think Stokes' proven upside coming in at 5/6 means we shouldn't mess around with him.

Joe Clarke, maybe?

Different format and class of oppo, but looked in good touch vs. the Pears in last night's T20.

Although, given Twittergate, maybe his copybook is permanently blotted after the Hepburn rape trial and his subsequent fine from the ECB for the "disrespectful" messages he exchanged with the aforementioned convicted rapist.

I'd be pretty unimpressed to see him selected, although I can't really talk as a NZ fan.

Would imagine it is hard for him to get selected at present given all the focus on everything. Maybe his chance has gone totally because of it but his stuff is a different level altogether to being an ignorant idiot.

Glad Burns is doing well. Started to worry we had picked him several years too late considering his county form prior to finally getting picked. Found it stupid he was ignored for so long. Still may have lost some peak years but at least he’s gone well so far in these tests

Joe should really get Sri Lankan citizenship so he can play his home games in a place where he makes any runs.
