Pitch is starting to scruff up already. Looks like the management may have asked jazz to bowl flatter and faster. Ajaz does toss the ball up and give it a tweak. Hope he's not buying into that rubbish and not try to be another Santner. Couple of overs or three he'll start to change pace.

I’ve always believed that ideally a batsman shouldn’t score any runs as run scoring connotes a lapse in concentration, so I may be atypical in this regard. But ffs, it’s not baseball.

This pair are doing a good job. But whether either are capable of getting on top and accelerating through the day I’m not sure.

Don't want to anti-jinx him into a 5-four, but Boult looks very short of a gallop so far.

Ajaz looks a clear upgrade on Santner though.
