*Official* New Zealand in England 2021

Please please play your first xi, we want to watch some good cricket. Stokes, Butler, Bairstow and I can even take Roy. The pitch is doing nothing. Hope Bracey goes all right, his debut game. Hameed anyone?
Literally could not want to see anything less than England’s ODI biffers feat. The Ginger King Hit Traitor. I hate them all in a way where I don’t want to beat them, I just don’t want to see them.

Probably a moot point, but would NZ enforce the follow on if they're in position?
If they do have that decision to make, would tell us a bit about how they’re viewing this test/series in terms of the larger picture. With one day to go. you’d think the best chance of winning would be to send England back in. Not enforcing it potentially allows the batsmen more time in the middle and the bowlers to put their feet up, which may be a consideration with two upcoming tests in two weeks.

Burns isn’t a limited overs player so can only expect him to continue to anchor the innings realistically and maybe change gear a bit if he’s still in 9 down. He needs at least a 20 from someone for support or England are completely busted. Starting to smell like a carried bat or opener last man out like Conway

Interesting that Southee's seam release is set for outswing at the moment but is holding the ball with the rough side on the onside. So he's not bowling scrambled seam trying to nip it in off the pitch like he can, but he isn't really trying to swing it away. Maybe wanting the batsmen to think he's going to swing it away, but it actually goes straight?

One would hope a shot at winning a test at Lord's would trump practice for India, surely?

Or am I just an old fart?

If our boys get out we can say no match practice and we're playing away from home. England players have been playing County cricket. Surely they've had enough hits.

Fmd follow on discussions really bring out the armchair general in us all.

I wouldn't personally. Jamieson needs an hour or so. So why not bat 3 hours or so and do the classic new ball in the evening, New ball in the morning and second new ball end of day 5 plan we always do

Natural variation but England batters are all over the place. Only root got a goodie

Not sure we have enough runs to do that
