Literally could not want to see anything less than England’s ODI biffers feat. The Ginger King Hit Traitor. I hate them all in a way where I don’t want to beat them, I just don’t want to see them. Please please play your first xi, we want to watch some good cricket. Stokes, Butler, Bairstow and I can even take Roy. The pitch is doing nothing. Hope Bracey goes all right, his debut game. Hameed anyone?
If they do have that decision to make, would tell us a bit about how they’re viewing this test/series in terms of the larger picture. With one day to go. you’d think the best chance of winning would be to send England back in. Not enforcing it potentially allows the batsmen more time in the middle and the bowlers to put their feet up, which may be a consideration with two upcoming tests in two weeks.Probably a moot point, but would NZ enforce the follow on if they're in position?
They have to enforce it if they get the chance it’s day 4So, that follow on then...?
Are there actually Southee haters in tests? I think it's usually limited overs stuff that is more controversial.Where all the Southee haters at now. This takes great skill and cunning.
One would hope a shot at winning a test at Lord's would trump practice for India, surely? If they do have that decision to make, would tell us a bit about how they’re viewing this test/series in terms of the larger picture. Natural variation but England batters are all over the place. Only root got a goodieInteresting that Southee's seam release is set for outswing at the moment but is holding the ball with the rough side on the onside. So he's not bowling scrambled seam trying to nip it in off the pitch like he can, but he isn't really trying to swing it away. Maybe wanting the batsmen to think he's going to swing it away, but it actually goes straight?
Not sure we have enough runs to do thatFmd follow on discussions really bring out the armchair general in us all.
I wouldn't personally. Jamieson needs an hour or so. So why not bat 3 hours or so and do the classic new ball in the evening, New ball in the morning and second new ball end of day 5 plan we always do
I'd take both. Wins overseas are rare. One would hope a shot at winning a test at Lord's would trump practice for India, surely?
Or am I just an old fart?
