It’s a strange batting line up. There’s a lot of potential and big scores could happen, but it also has a 50 for 5 look about it.
They might both start but I definitely wouldn't say it's certain. They might only get one game each to give the fringe bowlers a chance to play and keep Broad and Anderson fresh* with an eye on the India series.Anderson and Broad will be certain to start, right?
The top 6 pretty much as we'd expect isn't it? I'm pleasantly surprised that Sibley is fit to play. Stokes is the only absentee. Agreed that we could find ourselves 5 down for not many, but that's always going to be the case with us, especially against a very good NZ attack in these conditions. Foakes' injury is frustrating as hell, and I have no idea how good Bracey is. Bowling is indeed something of a lottery. I tend to agree with whoever posted a while back that we could do worse that pick four quicks and rely on Root's part-time off-spin. I would tend to go with Broad and Anderson at this stage. There should be more opportunity to rotate them once Woakes is back. It’s a strange batting line up. There’s a lot of potential and big scores could happen, but it also has a 50 for 5 look about it.
I didn’t mean strange as in there being anything specifically wrong with it, just in it being hard to be confident which way it will go.The top 6 pretty much as we'd expect isn't it?
