ZCC have finally pulled off a win in the T20 League. Was expecting the worse when we managed just 119/9 batting first, but we proceeded to roll the opposition out for 69! Rated 58K to our opponent's 52K. Only our 2nd win so far tho, long way left to go to avoid relegation.

We made 75 runs in the powerplay mainly due to some superb hitting from Richard Tipping and Trilby...

The wickets continue to fall though, and I'm worried that we'll be bowled out for a score under par.

Daniel Bennett from @Marcuss' Ashgrove Astronauts having some fun in a Fr. T20 vs my team.

I must have been very good in my (weakened) selections, for the teams are only 40 points apart in the expert preview, lol.

Lol, in the space of 9 deliveries near the end of the innings: 3 wickets, 4 dropped catches.

Ashgrove end up 148-8.

JOJOXI and ataraxia in an interesting friendly aws

Chris Serter with a surprisingly useful spell for ataraxia and Aylmer and Shaffrey trying to build together a partnership that can chase a gettable 247.

Dynamo Morpork is on a six-match win streak but I think I've spread myself too thin on too many players, many of them are peaking at low 30s skill which aren't gonna cut it much above low D2 level. Hopefully I can push M. Fouche up to nearly 40, he just popped in shot selection meaning he's hit 30 with four weeks to go before his 18th birthday.

JOJOXI

International Captain
Welp, a couple wickets just has left me in a very tough situation.
Good debut for Fletcher, need him more for his batting then his bowling although he is a good bowler - allows me to play him and Potgeiter and stiffen the batting which as today shows does have a tendency to collapse. Good spells from Sarter and Hyde for you. Nice to see 2 youngsters in homegrown Glenn and recent signing Soosaipillai get 6 of the wickets to fall for us and a good game - closer than the final winning margin suggests

CWC Round 3 Preview

Plenty of hype for tomorrow's games! Should be a real exciting round of fixtures.

@JOJOXI's Winton CC will look to return to winning ways as they play host to @jimmy101's Picasso Moon. Will they go in full strength in order to get that bonus point and NRR boost, or will they look to experiment? We shall wait and see. My bet is that they go in full strength, as they can't risk another upset loss like they suffered to the Honest Hunks in Round 1

Top-Of-The-Table and defending champions ZCC will look to extend their unbeaten CWC run (now 13 games and counting) against @Magrat Garlick's Dynamo Schmaltzberg. The Dom Dom Memorial Ground pitch is looking uncharacteristically dry ahead of this match up - rumours have it the management failed to remind the ground staff to water the pitch! Expect ZCC to go full strength, but perhaps with young offspinner Tim Chester selected to support the former SA international Luke Giddings. Schmaltzberg will be looking to load up on spin options as well, and will take solace in the fact that ZCC have lost their last 5 games at home!

Meanwhile FHK will face off against Dynamo Morpork in what could be the most exciting match of the round. The two sides have a long history, with the score reading 13-10 in favour of Morpork. However in the T20 format that scoreline reads 5-3 to FHK, and at the 5DNOL Stadium it is 3-1 to the hosts. But that one win for Dynamo was the most recent result between these two sides, a 4-wicket win on 15th April! Both these teams are unbeaten in the current CWC, and someone's 0 has got to go! Expect both sides to hold nothing back. FHK will start as slight favourites given they're playing at home and their superior record in the format.

And last, but certainly not least, @morgieb's Inner Western Wombats will face @honestbharani's Honest Hunks! The rookie Wombats manager will look at this as an opportunity to pick up their first ever CWC win, while the Hunks will be determined to prove their defeat of Winton CC is more than a one-off fluke. The Hunks also have the advantage of having played at this level for far longer, and their experience may just be the defining factor. Definitely a game to keep your eye on.

My opponents for the league OD game today have played a drastically weaker XI for some reason. As a result we scored 411/5 batting first (Zack Yattack 137* off 69 with 10 fours and 9 sixes) and now have them 19/2 in 5 overs.

Wish I knew they were going to do this, I would have rested Raun Shkorer and played another youngster. I hid him at 8 in the batting lineup because his condition before this game was so bad and I didn't want to risk injury. I figured if I was in a situation where my entire top 7 fails I'd have him there to bail me out. All a bit of waste now, the exp/fielding gains for a youngster in his spot would have been more valuable, and it would have let him rest too!

My opponent and I both fielded teams with 49,156 xpr. What are the odds.

Currently needing 110 from the last 21 overs, with seven in hand. Normally possible but it's been a tough wicket to cut loose on

We were gifted a win there. Weird strategy. I hope this isn't a manager who is quitting the game. Team name 'Relegation Reprobates', they had a decent record before this game. 6-2-4-0. They've beaten teams and usually rate 10K higher per game than today.

Maybe they massively underestimated us. Unlucky.

Dynamo Morpork with a 3-wicket win vs an old adversary of ZCC - well done @Magrat Garlick ! 7-6-1-0. Excellent season so far.

Thankfully Raun Shkorer came out of today's game practically unscathed. On 60% condition now, should be good to go by Wednesday. Keeper/bat Heshan de Mehlo is now on the 'probables' list - on 48%. Is Jamal Madani ready to make the step up?

FHK are playing on a weird pitch. 71-40-25. Flat but worn. I reckon we're a decent flat-pitch team, so we should be a decent flat-but-worn pitch team. I backed my 5 specialist bowlers, no part-time filth from Kovrig today. Going well so far, happy to be chasing.
