It's just odd - my better quality bowlers got smashed and my worse quality bowlers emerged largely unscathed. Hardly fair.

best not to extrapolate from single performances. this game's got a lot more variables than BT, so stuff like this happens. Got to factor in that your better bowlers are generally bowling the harder overs, have more attacking fields, and sometimes even concede more runs through bad luck with edges/mis-hits/etc.

Agnes Chow leading the way for FHK with 59*.

Good 66 from Aylmer. Young spinners taking a bit of tap, but result shouldn't really be in doubt.

Agnes ends with 71 as FHK pick up a comfortable 6-wicket win. Decent performance from the young ones. Average age of 18.7 to Moooo's 22.4

Murdoch just couldn't really get going. Him and Frost have played all of my games so far, but have had modest returns with the bat.

Failed to get my orders in time, so I don't have an opportunity to play 30yo former Saffa international Austin Hyde.

And yes, I know that I should focus on getting younger players. But getting a guy who is my best bowler by far and a better bat than many of my specialist bats for just $3K was impossible to resist.

Good stuff. Won with 6 wickets and 23 balls remaining. Aylmer got 56no off 41. Mitchell Armstrong was also helpful at the end as he so often is with a patient 25no. Recovered from the 1 wicket loss in the previous encounter between the teams.

Yea decided to go down the potentials-over-skill route for that T20. Felt a bit bad after the ZCC lads scored 426 :p

Good effort to clock up 41K ratings there. 126 was a sub par score, needed more than that batting first.

Sure you can afford Austin Hydes' wages?

you'll probably want to trim that squad down to about 18 max at some point. It's good to have options and depth, but their skills will decline if they don't get enough game time and you'll be paying their wages anyways.

ZCC have 21 players, but I'm going to trim that as soon as I get eliminated from the cup. Seems like I'm relegating to Div 3 in T20 as well, so probably will focus more on youth.

I've culled it to 22, will do more later. Just a question: any restrictions on nationality of players?

nah, pick whoever you like. Nationality only matters when it comes to International cricket. Naturally I only promote BD players from my youth academy.

My side had a run of form a while back where we were winning constantly in league cricket but losing regularly to any half decent side in friendies

Now we're regularly beating decent sides in friendlies but can't win a league game to save our lives. Not quite sure what I can do to arrest this slide either. Got young spinners coming through but it will be atleast another season, if not two, till they're somewhat reliable at senior cricket. Pace attack is good but underperforming, batting lineup has two Nat guys and two fringe Nat guys in the top 4 but they're so inexperienced and just keep throwing away starts.
